Estonian champion Flora Tallinn has announced that one of her youngsters has left them for Tottenham Hotspur.
Flora says Maksim Paskotsi has signed a three-year contract at Tottenham, from which he will enroll in the academy, after the two clubs agreed an unreleased amount.
Paskotsi is a 17-year-old central defender who has already played twice for Flora’s first team, transfermarkt.
They are said to have tried it in central Tottenham’s Enfield in August after the Spurs expressed interest last month.
Paskotsi commented on his decision on Flora’s official website: “I can’t describe how satisfied I am now! It’s a very complicated but at the same time difficult step in my career. “
“I need to thank all flora players and especially the coaches who have given me a lot and I’m sure I won’t do it with those other people and with them we’ll still be smart friends. Experience! A club. A family!”
And the club’s sporting director, Norbert Hurst, was also pleased with Paskotsi’s decision.
He added: “At the end of July, we gained data that Tottenham is interested in Maxim and would like him. The s went well, the Tottenham was delighted.
“At the same time, I was made aware of the club to get an idea of what the environment would be like if a player moved there. It soon became transparent that other people were open and often supported. Each player you enter will have a representative team perspective.
“The players are not crowded either. In addition to team building, individual on-site plans are made to take control of players to the highest level imaginable. “
Tottenham has cleared a trio of academy headquarters Luis Binks, Benjamin Watt and Maxwell Statham starting this year, while Timothy Eyoma has been on loan lately.
If Paskotsi, however, were part of the Spurs’ first team, he would become the first Estonian to do so.
