The downtown ring road was closed all week by the demolition of a ‘dangerous’ luxury tower in the Uptown Manchester area

A giant segment of Trinity Way will be closed for several hours a day this week to allow the demolition of a “dangerous” luxury tower.

The main road will be closed at any of the instructions between Blackfriars Road in Salford and Great Ducie Street in the city centre between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm for five days.

There were long delays on Monday morning when the project paintings began.

Road closures “will allow the demolition of a structurally unhealthy building,” confirmed a spokeswoman for Salford City Council.

The building, advertised as “Uptown Manchester”, is structured through property alliance group.

Construction is underway in 3 apartment blocks, one six stories, one of eight and one of ten, but stopped last month.

They were built on the banks of the Irwell River off Trinity Way.

Earlier this month, Property Alliance Group told the Manchester Evening News that the apartment block was partially demolished due to an “engineering problem. “

At that time, fences engroned the entire concrete core of the 10-story building.

Property Alliance Group said Monday night: “After consulting with Salford City Council and residents, we have requested the full closure of Trinity Way.

“This is a precaution that allows us to continue with the partial demolition of the roof design as safely as possible.

“These paintings are expected to continue until Friday, September 18, and will take place from 9:30 a. m. 3:30 p. m.

“We would like to apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused and to ensure to the local network that we are operating as temporarily as you can imagine and that we will keep you informed. “

Monday marked the first day Trinity Way closed in any of the instructions to allow for additional work.

According to a tweet from TfGM, large delays were reported on Monday due to road closures.

Drivers were invited to the area.

The tweet, published at 11. 15am, read: “Close the road on Trinity Way due to a building.

A spokeswoman for Salford City Council showed that the road will be closed for several hours a day for a period of five days.

In a statement, the council said: “An emergency road closure will be in effect from Monday 14 September, for a five-day period between 9. 30 and 15. 30 on the next segment of the highway: Trinity Way, Salford, at any of the instructions between the Blackfriars Road junctions and Great Ducie Street, Manchester.

“Emergency closures outside peak hours are mandatory to allow the demolition of a structurally unhealthy construction adjacent to the road. “

The detours will be signed by Blackfriars Street, A6 Chapel Street and Victoria Street, Manchester and vice versa.
