The end of Valencia’s Manchester City Ferran Torres

Manchester, 5 August (IANS) Manchester City has completed the signing of Valencia Ferran Torres, subject to foreign approval. The 20-year-old signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 202–5.

Torres, who operates basically as a winger, played 44 games for Valencia last season, scoring six goals.

“I’m very pleased to sign for City,” Torres told the club’s official website. “Every player must be concerned in attack groups and Manchester City is one of the offensive highs of world football.

“Pep (Guardiola) fosters a very open and competitive style, which I love, and is a coach who has proven value on the track in the players. Ensuring my progression is a dream.

“The City has won many trophies in the last 10 years and I look forward to playing an important role in this success,” he added.

He made his first-team debut for Valencia in November 2017 as a replacement in a 4–1 win over Real Zaragoza in the Copa del Rey, and has become the youngest player to play 50 games in La Liga with the club, achieving that point. On 23 November 2019 in a 2–1 loss to Real Betis at the age of 19 and 324 days, breaking a record 40 years in the past sustained through Miguel Tendillo.

In 2019, Torres won his first primary silver coin by making six appearances in the successful Copa del Rey crusade in Valencia.

In total, he played 97 games for Valencia, scoring goals and offering 12 assists.
