Celtic have responded to the scathing Green Brigade by accusing the club of being “vindictive” after being denied a designated status dominance in upcoming women’s matches.
Elena Sadiku’s side will take on SWPL rivals Hibs and Hearts at Celtic Park in a bid to spice up their chances of making a name for themselves. The Ghirls are one point behind second-place city rivals Rangers and expect a large crowd for both games. The Green Brigade went in the hope of being able to maintain the stadium’s objectives as part of the “Celtic End” concept of the gan group. However, they decided to boycott the event after being informed that the desired status domain would be unavailable due to security concerns.
The organization has reached out to CEO Michael Nicholson and Chief Financial Officer Chris McKay. They referred to the recent cancellation of visitors’ tickets for the Old Firm SWPL clash at Ibrox, which was also due to safety concerns, meaning there were no enthusiastic visiting officials inside the pitch for the 1-1 draw.
However, Celtic have now shown that they have presented a pick-and-choose status segment to the team. A spokesperson for the club said: “The organisation has been informed that Jock Stein will not be available due to certain safety considerations relating to this express area. , however, arrangements have been made through the club to allow the organization to assist in the rail seating segment.
“This has been communicated to the organisation and the club expects as many helpers and teams of helpers as possible to come forward to assist Celtic FC Women in the upcoming matches at Celtic Park, as well as all other matches. “
