The last matches of Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City with Jurgen Klopp’s counter-press

This season’s title race is shaping up to be one of the most exciting the Premier League has seen in a long time, with three still up for grabs.

For years, it’s been a race between two men, with Manchester City and Liverpool battling it out for the nation’s most sensible honour. While Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp’s teams remain two of the most lethal groups in the league, a third team has entered. Mikel Arteta’s fight at Arsenal.

On Saturday afternoon, City played earlier, and Guardiola’s side travelled to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in the midday kick-off. Despite trailing within five minutes, the defending champions temporarily restored parity and won 4-2.

Next up are the Gunners, who suffered a tricky defeat against Brighton in the evening. However, a Bukayo Saka penalty in the first half followed through a second-half touch through Kai Havertz and a deft Leandro Trossard saw Arsenal recover from the rain. They drenched the South Coast with all 3 problems through a 3-0 win.

On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool will travel to Old Trafford to face fierce rivals Manchester United. It was only last month that the Red Devils knocked Klopp’s side out of the FA Cup and Liverpool will no doubt be looking for revenge this time around.

As for the rest of the league’s three contenders, City host relegation-threatened Luton Town at the Etihad next Saturday afternoon. The defending champions are the team among the three that will face each other to play next Saturday.

Following Sunday’s clash with United, Liverpool will face Crystal Palace at Anfield a week later, before Arsenal take on former boss Unai Emery when Aston Villa arrive in town for kick-off at 4. 30pm.
