Updates on Liverpool’s two-star fitness were online tonight, before the club’s assembly with Ajax.
The main theme of Premier League champions over the more than 24 hours has been, of course, the club’s injuries.
Jurgen Klopp’s men traveled to Goodison Park in the afternoon for a derby at Merseyside.
After 90 exciting minutes, both groups nevertheless had to settle for a point, however, it was Virgil van Dijk’s early departure that made headlines after the match.
The Dutch are aiming for the goal of a Jordan Pickford horror challenge with just six minutes on the clock, and Reds enthusiasts have been forced to anticipate an update on van Dijk’s well-being.
A word about the scope of tonight’s 29-year-old challenge, as the worst fears of all Liverpool-related ones were confirmed.
Van Dijk suffered a knee ligament injury and will be forced to pass the knife to fix the injury.
The former Southampton man will therefore be sidelined for the rest of the campaign.
Virgil van Dijk will be operated on from the knee injury suffered in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at @Everton.
After surgery, Virgil will start a rehabilitation program that will allow him to be back fully complete as soon as possible.

Van Dijk, however, is not the only member of Jurgen Klopp’s team to have had a fitness challenge at Goodison.
At the end of the fierce clash, a reckless post in Richarlison left Thiago Alcantara hampered, foreign Spain suffering in recent minutes.
Subsequent reports warned that Thiago was suffering from swelling in his knee, which only caused fear among the Liverpool faithful.
And, as demonstrated tonight, the reds’ summer incorporation has been impaired. He’s about to miss the club’s next Champions League match with Ajax on Wednesday night.
Fortunately, however, Thiago’s challenge is not serious.

“It is understood that he was not seriously injured in the incident after undergoing medical examinations Saturday at Spire Hospital in Mossley Hill. “
“However, Thiago is about to miss the Reds game against Ajax on Wednesday and the club will assess his recovery after that. “
