The “Local Truth” About Youth Leagues in Beaumont

The Southeast Texas Oilers are one of the many youth soccer teams available locally.

Although many youth soccer leagues in Beaumont ended their season less than a month ago, it’s time for parents to start thinking about next fall.

The city’s leagues start their registration processes as soon as possible. Some enrollment activities have already taken place, but don’t worry, there’s still time to enroll your child on a youth soccer team for the upcoming season.

And there are multiple programs eager to attract more participants.

The Southeast Texas Oilers, which offers teams for boys ages 5 through 12, are holding in-person sign-up sessions for next season. Opportunities to register will happen in the coming months, and organizers urge parents to follow the team’s social media at Facebook.com/setxoilers.

The first will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Buffalo Wild Wings in Beaumont.

There will also be online registration for the Oilers as the season nears. When online registration opens, parents will be able to sign up their children by creating a Sports Connect account on the team’s website, leagues.bluesombrero.com/setxoilers.

Soccer player registration is $225 and a $75 non-refundable deposit is required. The Oilers will also offer an incentive program, with season registrations costing $350.

“Sign up those little kids before it’s too late,” organizer Robin Love said in announcing the new season. “We are looking forward to a successful year. As always, parents, we appreciate all you do.

The Southeast Texas Youth Soccer League, which includes local systems in communities across the area, will open online registration on Feb. 2. Beaumont has two included in this league: the West Beaumont Bruins and the East Beaumont Timberwolves. Each offers various age ranges.

Once registration is open, all the documents and data required for express groups can be found on the organization’s website, stjfl. net. Incentive schemes are also offered. Prices for the soccer and stimulus programs will be known when registration opens in February.

The Capital Youth League is also preparing for next season as it looks to build on a strong first year in 2023. Beaumont local Kasey Nonette, former high school and professional quarterback, led the league with six groups last season. Four were from Beaumont and two from Port Arthur.

Registration has not yet opened for this league, but Nonette said the league is planning to add more teams for next season, as interest is growing.

“Registration is done through each and every one of the CYFL teams,” said Nonette. “Each team starts regularly by signing up in the spring and summer. “
