The Western Conference will offer an entry war for last place in this season’s playoffs, and the NBA has announced the official schedule for the one- or two-game series.
According to ESPN’s Shakeemah Simmons-Winter, ABC will broadcast the first game between Seeds 8 and nine on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. And. If he wins the No. 8 seed, he will qualify for the playoffs to face the top-seeded Los Angeles Lakers.
However, there will be a second game Sunday if the No. 9 seed wins, which ESPN will air at 4:30 p.m. ET. If there is a second game, it will be a winner-take-all affair for that last postseason spot.
Although there were many intriguing stories at Walt Disney World Resort, planting games add to the rise of T.J. Warren, the war for Los Angeles between the Lakers and the Clippers and the groups struggling to position themselves in the standings, the race for the last position in the Western Conference playoffs seems to be the biggest.
The Memphis Grizzlies watched their No. 8 seed collapse with a 1-5 record in six games in Florida.
They have only one game forward from the Portland Trail Blazers and 3 games or less forward from the Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings. Upon restarting the league, the rule was implemented: the No. nine seed had to be within 4 games of The No. 8 seed to force the entry tournament after 8 qualifying games for each team.
This means that the race for number nine is the same as with so many groups still alive with a handful of games to play. Only one can challenge the eventual No. 8 seed for this last place.
Portland would challenge the Lakers in the first circular with a dynamic rear area of Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and Gary Trent Jr. to pass with a front zone with Jusuf Nurkic and Zach Collins.
New Orleans has Zion Williamson, San Antonio has a pedigree of good fortune, and Sacramento has many young game creators who will challenge the West in the years to come. Then there’s Phoenix, who hasn’t yet lost a game in Florida at 5-0 with Devin Booker at the helm as an elite scorer who can take over at any time.
Ja Morant and the Grizzlies would possibly have to deal with one of the threats, and that means they don’t fall absolutely from the eighth or nine series with ongoing fights.
