The newest in the chase through Brighton’s Leeds from Ben White

The 22-year-old White Central Defense is the product of the Brighton system.

The Englishman has not yet appeared as a single in the Premier League with the Seagulls, having secured a number of loans in recent seasons.

Meanwhile, the last of those spells away from the Amex, saw White begin to make a call for himself.

After impressing the Newport and Peterborough books, the young stopper crossed Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds for the 2019/20 campaign.

White then played a key role in the Peacocks’ baseline, starting the club’s 46 league outings, while Leeds booked his Premier League spot for the first time in 16 years.

As such, on the back of their stellar exploits last season, the news that championship name winners have an interest in making whites remain permanent is no surprise.

In fact, in recent weeks, widespread reports that Leeds has already noticed a number of rejected proposals through Brighton.

The most recent of those reports came the day before, when Football Insider stated “exclusively” that a strong offer of 30 million pounds had been submitted through Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

Brighton, however, rejected the offer:

Since tonight, another update on the situation has also been obtained, through a very reliable source.

Speaking to Twitter recently, Simon Stone of the BBC showed that claims about Leeds’ new proposal for White were unfounded.

Significantly, Stone also added that, as things stand, Brighton had no interest in separating himself from his sought-after advocate:
