MADRID – Real Madrid, on the Spanish side, was caught on a plane for more than two hours on Friday after ice on the runway at Barajas airport prevented his plane from taking off when a snowstorm rocked the country.
The La Liga team was waiting to take off from Madrid for Saturday’s match against Osasuna in Pamplona, in northwestern Spain.
“We were told that the picture is bleak. The take-off tracks are closed and the ice-breaking apparatus is destined to land,” said a Spokesman for the Royal on Friday.
“We estimate that we have been here more than two hours. The feeling of outrage is already uncontainable. “(Report via Graham Keeley edited through Christian Radnedge)
