The charity “No Child Goes Without Gifts at Christmas” will benefit more than 2,000 children.
The Real Madrid Foundation, in collaboration with the Madrid City Council and organisations such as El Corte Inglés, Asditex and CYP Brands, is once again displaying the poster At Christmas, no child without a gift. gift). This solidarity initiative benefits 2,000 young people living in 11 coverage centres and youth homes (where the Real Madrid Foundation carries out permanent projects), as well as young people from public and private hospitals in the region, who have been visited through the players.
This initiative has been held since 2005 as part of the programme of social sporting activities that the Real Madrid Foundation, together with the Madrid Council, carries out on a permanent basis. Every season, over 700 children under the care of the public administration due to abandonment or family problems from 11 shelters take part in football or basketball in values programmes. This initiative also includes the FVN-Laguna Care hospital and the Los Llanos and Los Lauros dialysis centres of the Íñigo Álvarez de Toledo Renal Foundation.
Objectives
Shelters provide transitional care and schooling for children who do not have an environment that can meet their biological, emotional and social needs. Its main purpose is to locate a suitable home environment. The Real Madrid Foundation collaborates with the Madrid City Council in youth centres to make the game a vehicle that facilitates their social integration.
