Oracle Red Bull Racing surprised Chicagoans Thursday morning by incorporating the championship-winning RB18 into their vehicle. The absolute monster of a device perched in its own carriage on the L, the expanded tracks of Chicago’s immediate transit formula. To our foreign readers, “L” is short for “high” and the entire formula is about 103 miles long and moving at a top speed of 55 mph. This makes it much faster than the RB19 Red Bull at the recent Malaysian Grand Prix. (Sorry, RBR. La joke there. )
Why Chicago? Earlier this year, Red Bull announced it would hold two promotional events in the US. The U. S. Grand Prix before the remaining two U. S. Grands Prix. U. S. The Cringe Grand Prix already took place in May, and Red Bull took home an impressive one-two. The COTA Grand Prix is scheduled for October 22, while the penultimate race of the season will take place in Las Vegas on November 19.
The Red Bull Showrun Chicago is scheduled for Sept. 29 and is free and open to the public. Unfortunately, all tickets have already been claimed.
Red Bull will build a transit loop on Madison Street, across from the United Center. The parking masses in the domain will also be remodeled into 2,000 feet of additional lane for the RB7 to stretch its legs. Since the RB18 is already there, it will probably also be part of the demonstration. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that any of the drivers will be present, as they are doing lately on the other side of the world, slowly returning to the United States for the Japanese and Qatari Grands Prix.
According to Red Bull’s statement, Chicagoans can expect “state-of-the-art machinery, impeccable donuts and appalling exhaustion. “
Red Bull hasn’t made any other car-related announcements, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see Mad Mike Whiddett and the iconic MADBUL. Whiddett recently trained Max Verstappen in the noble art of skidding.
Ford has already produced many promotional vehicles since announcing its engine partnership with Red Bull. Chances are, the Ford SuperVan is there and expect to see the more functionality vehicles recently introduced, such as the Mustang Mach-E Rally and the absolutely outrageous 800-horsepower Mustang. GTD.
It’s also a wonderful opportunity for American enthusiasts to get up close and personal with all of Ford’s racing Mustangs on display in recent months.
