Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood has revealed that he’s a big Celtic fan, much like his good pal Sir Rod Stewart, but he doesn’t ‘ram it down people’s throats’.

Rod and Ronnie were friends when they were part of the band Faces, formerly Small Faces, which rose to fame in the ’70s with hits such as Stay With Me, Ooh La La and Cindy Incidentally before breaking up in 1975.

Rocker Ronnie appeared on Talksport, where he asked about his friend Rod’s love for Celtic and Ronnie couldn’t help but laugh at his teammate.

He said: “I love Celtic too, but I don’t shovel it down people’s throats. He talks about it all the time. “

Rod is known for publicly signalling his love for the Glasgow team, adding to wearing the Celtic crest on their drums during performances. He also wears a shamrock chain and is seen in the Celtic FC kit.

He even declared his love for Celtic by getting hoop tattoos on his arm.

The goofy Hoops star showed off his new ink on social media after marking his arm permanently in a bid to show his appreciation for the Parkhead team.

She posted a snap of her new tattoo on Instagram and wrote: “Getting a ‘Glasgow Celtic’ tattoo in Auckland to celebrate my beloved ‘You’re in my heart. ‘”

Singer Maggie May has a Celtic shrine at her home in Essex. Earlier this year, Rod shared a photo of his Celtic shrine dedicated to the “King of Kings” Henrik Larsson on his Instagram.

He shared to his Instagram stories a photo of a montage and poster dedicated to the former Celtic player. The poster read: “The King of Kings, Larsson. 315 games, 242 goals.”
