The Southampton quarry turns to Team B to upgrade the U-23 as the club moves to the European model

Southampton is expected to approve a restructuring of its top academy replacing its under-23s with a senior BArray

The Saints academy helped expand Gareth Bale, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana and Theo Walcott, and before that, the produced legends Alan Shearer and Matt Le Tissier.

The style of a senior B team has been used effectively in Europe through Barcelona, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
