Manchester United’s first outgoing deal for the January 2024 transfer window arrived early on New Year’s Day.
Donny van de Beek has been sent on loan to German side Eintracht Frankfurt for the rest of the season, the club confirmed.
Van de Beek had been expected to leave in the summer, and played only 21 minutes of action this season, the last of which was in September.
He was on the United bench during the holidays to make up for lost time, even though his loan had been tentatively agreed in advance.

Eintracht Frankfurt are having a good season in Germany, currently in sixth place in the Bundesliga as they push to try and secure a European place for 2024/25.
They are pleased with the deal to sign Van de Beek, was was unveiled looking very happy to be representing his new loan club.

Eintracht Frankfurt are pleased with the deal and sporting director Markus Krösche states in his report that the former Ajax midfielder can make a significant contribution to the team.
Krösche said: “Donny van de Beek fits perfectly with our philosophy of play and is a piece of the puzzle for our team.
“He brings a lot of foreign experience, which our young players will gain advantages from.
“Donny also poses a goalscoring risk and will be especially useful when it comes to putting our forwards in promising positions. “
Van de Beek scored for Manchester United in pre-season but has scored two goals in festivals for the Red Devils since signing in 2020.
This is his loan away from Old Trafford, following his January 2022 loan spell at Everton.
