‘The worst one’… Darwin Nunez says £45m Liverpool player has horrendous fashion sense

Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz agree on who has the fashion sense at Liverpool.

By now, we’re well used to seeing members of the Reds squad in some, shall we say, interesting clobber. Ibrahima Konate has earned the praise of his teammates in the recent past, while Trent Alexander-Arnold was recently spotted donning some Dolce & Gabbana in Milan.

So we’re sure that when Nunez and Diaz were asked to call Liverpool’s best players dressed in the friendship cheque on the Premier League website, their Reds colleagues would have been intrigued to hear the answer.

Well, as it turns out, it’s very good news for Curtis Jones, but less so for poor Diogo Jota.

“Curtis,” Nunez quickly responded. “I think Curtis dresses well,” Diaz said.

“He dresses well. The worst one is Diogo Jota!” Darwin continued, with a mischievous smile. “No, no, no!” laughed a tickled Lucho.

There were a few more revelations in Nunez and Diaz’s little video today.

What is evident is that the two have a very intelligent relationship. Despite playing together at Liverpool for about 18 months, the South Americans seem close.

One nice moment came when the pair were asked to name Diaz’s best quality as a person.

Both writing ‘humble,’ they obviously know each other pretty well.

We also got a glimpse of how they fared in the English categories of Núñez and Díaz. Since his arrival in England, Núñez’s language disorders have been well documented. Meanwhile, Lucho doesn’t seem to have made much progress in this regard either.

It is attractive to note that both players, however, chose the Colombian because he has the most productive English language. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem like a very high bar.

We also learned that Ronaldinho, the soccer hero of Diaz’s formative years. Given the way our No. 7 plays, with a smile on his face, it’s not a huge surprise.

Nice to hear from two players who we don’t often tend to see too much of away from the pitch. Just don’t let Diogo see this…
