Juventus enjoyed Fabio Chiarodia this summer after he became one of the talents of German football.
The young man represents Italy, but his family spent two decades in Germany and thought it would be smarter for him to stay where he grew up.
He charged Juve for his signature when he signed a contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he now looks very close to becoming a regular first-team player despite being just 18 years old.
He still represents Italy’s youth groups and has been asked about his decision to stay in Germany despite being courted through a big European club like Juventus.
He said, quoted by Calciomercato:
“Yes, despite everything I chose to stay in Germany to be close to my family, who moved here 20 years ago. I feel comfortable with German football and in the end it was the choice.
Juve FC says
At 18 years old, Fabio Chiarodia will feel that he still has time to play in a team as sensible as Juve, and will now concentrate on joining a club where he can have more time to play.
We’ll continue to stick to him and, in the long run, we may have the opportunity to bring him into our squad when he becomes a more established player.
