Deshaun Watson will soon arrive in Houston.
Reports that Watson was frustrated with the Texans began circulating almost without delay after the end of Houston’s 2020 season. The star quarterback would not have been consulted until Nick Caserio appointed the franchise’s new general manager, and the Texans still don’t have a head coach.
While those rumors about Watson’s anger seem legitimate, the groups still have plenty of time to fix things before the groups start preparing for a new season, but according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the challenge can be irreparable and there’s a chance Watson will never wear the Shinons uniform again.
Hours before Schefter’s report, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk said Watson had not yet asked an outdoor industry in Houston, but given the way this factor is developing, it would be not at all surprising if this request came soon.
Obviously, you never need to integrate with a valid quarterback in the franchise, especially Watson. But if the Texans’ hand is forced, the organization may be comforted that the assets it would likely get in a successful agreement can simply accelerate to rebuilding.
