Three-star DL William Whitlow Jr. enters Memphis in Tennessee, Missouri

Memphis has been quiet on the recruiting track since the summer, the Tigers added a new engagement on Thursday.

Three-star defensive end William Whitlow Jr. announced his resolution on Twitter and is the Tigers ’21st commitment to the 2021 class. Alabama hometown is the Tigers’ first commitment since July 28.

Whitlow, who is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 240 pounds, received donations from Tennessee and Missouri, among others. The Tigers’ first-year defensive lineman, Kyle Pope, their lead recruiter.

Memphis Elegance is ranked 43rd by the 247Sports team, which is a leader among AAFC schools.

Whitlow had 39 tackles for the loss, adding eight catches, for Stanhope Elmore High School last season and was named honorable 6A All-State.

The Tigers have four defensive line commitments, which is a key wish with O’Bryan Goodson, Joseph Dorceus and Everitt Cunningham as seniors. All 3 have the option to return next season after the NCAA granted players one more year of eligibility.
