The 24-year-old German striker began his education with the Blues this week after making a 54 million pound move from RB Leipzig this summer.
“We talk a lot about the system, how he [Lampard] plays and sees me play,” Werner said.
“He knows me a little more now and it’s going very well between us.”
Werner hit heavily with a move to Liverpool before signing for Chelsea, and the striker says it’s “like a little dream” to move to West London club.
“When you left your old club and came to a big club like this, it was a dream come true for me because Chelsea is a very big club,” he added.
“I know the players before, when they won the Champions League with (Didier) Drogba, with my new coach Frank Lampard, Petr Cech as technical advisor, it’s like a little dream to me.
“But I need to become the same player as them, I need to be part of a new era here, so I’ll play to do my best.”
Although Werner understands the demands of the English elite, he believes his attributes are suitable for the Premier League.
“The taste of the Premier League is very fast and my specialty is that I’m very fast, so I think it’s better for me to play here,” Werner told Chelsea’s official website.
“It’s another league in some other country, so I can take it to another level, so those are the reasons I come to the Premier League and Chelsea.”
