Timo Werner has told former Liverpool contenders that his Chelsea team will fight for the Name of the Premier League next season.
German striker Werner is in a hurry to move to Anfield this summer, only for the Reds to be angry about an agreement amid the monetary uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic.
This allowed Chelsea to rush to get Werner out of RB Leipzig, and the 24-year-old enjoys life at his new club Frank Lampard as he prepares for his first English football season.
“The paintings with the manager have been very recent,” Werner told Blues’ website.
“He showed and explained to the whole team, not just me, what we can do in the area and how to do it last season.
“He’s been wonderful running with him and he’s discussed his long-term plans and how we should fight with groups like Man City and Liverpool.
“I think Chelsea is a wonderful club and with this team we have, I think we can succeed on a new level. We have some very smart players here and the coach is there to show us the way and improve.
“We’ve been working a lot on tactical things, as well as on our strength and fitness, to make sure we’re in a position for the start of the season. “
Werner scored less than five minutes after his first appearance with a Chelsea blouse in last weekend’s friendly draw at Brighton, and says he is enjoying life in London while playing outdoor football in Germany for the first time.
“My apartment is very nice, I am satisfied there and the city of London is great,” he said.
“For me, London is one of the most productive cities in the world, so I’m satisfied. When you leave for a few days, the weather was also very beautiful!Yes, I am very satisfied and I am installing well. “
