Tottenham 2-2 Wolves: No more for Ange PostoCoglou as Spurs stay at home

Tottenham have picked up just two wins in their last 10 games, while Wolves overcame to earn a 2-2 draw in front of a disgruntled crowd.

Spurs seemed to have the game in the bag as Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson put them up 2-1 after Hee-Chan Hwang’s opener.

However, despite wasting the key type of Matheus Cunha at halftime from injuries, Wolves discovered a level of due through Jorgen Strand Larsen, meaning they took seven problems from Vítor Pereira’s opening 3 games.

Spurs, who also missed a penalty opposite Heung-Min’s son at 1-1 and were booed at full-time, have failed to win in their last five home games and left them 11th in the Premier League table with just 24 problems from 19 games.

It also leaves boss Ange Postecoglou under huge pressure.

A torrid December, with poor effects and a developing list of injuries, had noticed the spurs sliding across the table, but they looked poised to end 2024 with a win after a strong start to the first half.

However, Postecoglou’s exhausted team could not add a third or stay ahead, and their injury curse counterattacked when Destiny Udogie limped off in the second half with a hamstring injury.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou:

“It hurts, I’m responsible.

“When I see how hard they’re trying, it hurts even more. I wanted them to get rewards for their effort. It hurts immensely. It’s my responsibility for where we’re at right now.

“I’m going to continue like this, friend, we have some works to do to reach those players. Our role is for them to give the best of themselves. I can see how hard they try. If we were at our best, we would have scored the third and fourth goals, we were a few inches apart. We lack the dynamic movement we need. Where does Deki [Kulusevski] get the strength from, Dom, Sonny?

“We face a lot of things and we don’t have a simple path in terms of bringing players back to freshen up to the team. When we recover one of them, we lose one.

Lewis Jones of Sky Sports:

If only Dejan Kulusevski’s secret formula can be bottled and sold, he would make millions.

Ange Postecoglou said after watching star man: “Where does Deki [Kulusevski] get the energy from?”

Such is its relentless energy, that the argument is being formed that it is not human.

Playing his fifth consecutive 90 minutes in just 14 days, he once backs up Tottenham’s most productive player in possession, creating a purpose and 3 more chances, and his toughest paints without it.

No player left in the box that the 12. 3 km of Kulusevski in general and his 16 sprints were also the largest of any player.

You will need to get a good night’s sleep.

It is clear that the spurs operate in a vacuum. Not only are they missing their most productive defenders, but their key attacking men also want to rest. Heung-Min’s son simply can’t cope with this kind of relentless schedule now and his miss penalty showed that while Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson give it their all they are still a back yard from his most productive. The Smart Spurs have Kulusevski.

Your shoulders will have to hurt to get to this side.
