Tottenham are making plans to offer a new move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba, according to reports in Germany.
Spurs’ summer move window has been ruled through the saga surrounding Harry Kane’s long career at the club, however, the North Londoners have made a number of positive signings.
Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro have returned to permanent deals with Juventus and Porto respectively, while James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario and Manor Solomon have also arrived.
And now Tottenham have focused on their defence with Tapsoba at the most sensible on their list of moves precedence.
Sport 1 journalist Partick Berger insists Spurs are looking to make a new offer for the Burkinabé foreigner after learning that 40 million euros is not enough last month.
It is believed that Tapsoba needs to move to the Premier League and Tottenham are now “pushing” for a deal despite Leverkusen’s reluctance to sell.

Berger tweeted: “Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to sign Edmond Tapsoba (24). It has been said that the Premier League team plans to make a new offer of 45 million euros, but Bayer Leverkusen needs much more. The German club don’t I need to sell the central defender.
And Spurs are definitive in signing Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven with Italian TuttoMercatoWeb stating that the Dutchman has a six-year contract with the Premier League club.
Van de Ven is now “one step away” from signing for Tottenham, which yesterday was shown through Fabrizio Romano, after Spurs made a “resurgence” of the central defender and is now “very close to moving” from Wolfsburg to north London.
Tottenham have been offered €40m plus €5m in bonuses, a deal is now “close to the finish line” with an offer closer to the Bundesliga team’s asking price.
Spurs may only have more money to spend before the end of the move window if Kane continues with Bayern Munich looking for the England international.
And former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara insists he would have moved by now if he were Kane.
O’Hara told Grosvenor Sport: “If I’m Harry Kane, I’m leaving. I would have looked at pre-season, where Spurs have only played two games so far, I would have realised it’s a disaster and I would have noticed that the club hadn’t attracted any players of great quality, and I would have said, ‘You know what?’I’m going to move on to Bayern Munich.
“I think he’s getting to the point where he’s probably had enough, and if Daniel Levy is looking to settle for an offer to be eventually, then I think he’ll leave. I don’t know where Spurs will be without Harry. “Kane next season. He is a world-class foreign football player of the highest level, and Spurs have been lucky to have him for so long. Now he’s at the point where that’s enough: If the Spurs are going to compete, then he has to. go.
“I just think Spurs have moved away from Arsenal and Manchester United. I feel like there was a time when they competed with them and with each other, but I feel like now they’ve gone astray. The only thing that saves the club is that they still have Kane. “and Heung-min Son, who are world-class players, but if you take a look at the rest of the team, it is no bigger than West Ham.
“Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and even Aston Villa will be better than them next season – they attract the most productive players, but not Spurs. Some of the players who signed are embarrassing. “
