Tottenham assign the no-sale tag to a beloved player who will now come under intense scrutiny

Tottenham Hotspur ruled out promoting Richarlison in the January move window but will be tight in the second part of the season, according to a report.

Richarlison struggled to justify the amount Tottenham paid Everton to sign him last summer. This has already raised questions about his long career in north London and links to a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Saudi officials reportedly believe Richarlison could be a more available target than Tottenham team-mate Son Heung-min in January, after identifying both players as characteristics to bring to the Middle East.

However, his confidence may be misplaced, and resources now indicate that Tottenham will not be combining tactics with Richarlison in January after all.

The latest to recommend this is Football Insider, who claim that Tottenham are not even a Richarlison exit this winter.

However, the report warns Richarlison that if his form does not improve in the second part of the season, Tottenham will promote him this summer.

The Saudi Pro League could remain a possible destination for Richarlison until then, where he could cross paths with compatriots such as Neymar, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino.

That said, no one has yet shown what Richarlison’s non-public stance would be on Saudi Arabia.

He is under contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2027 but has scored just five goals in 46 appearances for his current employers.

As reported, Richarlison will face scrutiny on production resumes after January to justify his position at Tottenham, or he could simply threaten to squander it.

Tottenham never signed a quick replacement for Harry Kane this summer after promoting their all-time top scorer to Bayern Munich, and could simply invest in more festival from the start in 2024, which would theoretically push Richarlison up the pecking order.

The former Watford striker has made seven Premier League appearances so far this season and has made 3 appearances, but despite providing 3 assists, he has only scored one goal in the most sensible flight.

Despite this, Tottenham are still just two places off the top of the Premier League table, almost a third of the way to the new season.
