Tottenham get a take-it-or-leave-it counteroffer, and the team’s fate hinges on Daniel Levy

The fate of an agreed move to Tottenham now appears to lie with Spurs boss Daniel Levy, who has been given an ultimatum, according to a report.

Most movement headlines around Tottenham of late fear their continued pursuit of Dominic Solanke. Direct talks to sign the striker have begun with Bournemouth and TEAMtalk understands Spurs are ready to offer £60million.

Solanke is protected by a £65m release clause, though that clause can only be activated by as yet unspecified clubs.

It is not yet clear whether Tottenham are eligible to activate the clause. However, that’s not as applicable at the moment given that Spurs intend to submit a bid below the £65m figure anyway.

Regarding the player, Solanke would be willing to sign for Tottenham. The latest news about this play can be found here.

But while Solanke’s potential move is in the spotlight, some other move by Spurs could cross the line first.

Tottenham hope to sell right-back Emerson Royal to AC Milan and the Brazilian has long since agreed terms with the Rossoneri.

A five-year deal agreed more than a month ago, with Emerson earning around £50,000 a week if he completes his move to San Siro.

However, it proved more difficult to reach an agreement related to the payment of the move, as Spurs expected to generate 25 million euros in the first place.

Milan has made it clear that it has no intention of responding to this request. However, they gave their first offer after right-back Alessandro Florenzi suffered a serious knee injury in pre-season.

After paying between €10 million and €12 million, Milan increased their offer to around €15 million plus €2 million in extras.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has shown that a new and potentially definitive circular of negotiations between the two clubs will be launched on Wednesday.

It is not yet clear whether these talks have borne fruit. However, the Italian media La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Milan are willing to continue expanding their offer.

Milan insist that they will offer more than the 15 million euros plus the 2 million euros they have already deposited. As such, the report suggests that his current offer is also his ultimate offer and now it’s a matter of take it or leave it to Tottenham.

Milan hope to install Emerson as a regular starter at right back if he is signed. They also hope that Emerson will be fit to play his first match of the Serie A season against Turin on Saturday, August 17.

The report concluded that Milan believed that Tottenham would eventually settle for the existing offer (€15m plus €2m in add-ons) that was made.
