Joe Cole has upset Tottenham fans by saying Spurs are “not a wonderful club” after their 1-1 draw with West Ham United on Tuesday night.
Ange Postecoglou’s side missed the chance to fix problems with fourth-placed Aston Villa and boost their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
Tottenham failed to qualify for Europe last season and came close on several occasions; He hasn’t won a first trophy since 2008.
Cole, who played for West Ham, Chelsea and Liverpool, was in liquidation mode while on the post-West Ham game and didn’t hesitate to speak to former Tottenham player Glen Hoddle.
“West Ham do very well against Tottenham Hotspur. They’re upping their game. Joe, you were in that locker room. I don’t know what it is. Over the years, when I played, in your time and now. “I think it’s the fan base,” Hoddle said.
“I think West Ham probably would have felt favourites against Tottenham as well, even though they didn’t win many trophies. [Spurs] They act and behave like a team that does. By the way, I’m sorry, Glenn. ” Cole replied.
“West Ham are probably asking, ‘Why are you such a great club?So they gave you this kind of David and Goliath, and you’re like, ‘Let’s pass them on. ‘”
“Because it’s not a big club, it’s not a Manchester United or a Liverpool. They’re a great club [Tottenham], but they don’t have that stature.

Tottenham may not have the trophy from Man Utd or Liverpool, but no one can deny that they are a genuine force under Postecoglou.
They have one of the most interesting teams to watch in the Premier League after scoring an impressive 62 goals this season, despite squandering their record holder, Harry Kane, last summer.
If Spurs continue on their current trajectory, you’d think their next trophy would be just around the corner.
With exciting young players like Destiny Udogie, Micky van de Ven, Pape Matar Sarr and Brennan Johnson in their ranks, the long run looks bright.
That said, we’ve said all of this before, especially in the Mauricio Pochettino era, so it will be attractive to see if they can build on their momentum under Postecoglou.
