The Club is extremely pleased to have been recognised as the greenest in the Premier League for the fourth year running after once again dominating the EPL Sport Positive ranking, via the BBC today.
Sport Positive, supported through the UN, collects key data on environmental sustainability for each Premier League football club in a matrix of tables. The categories reflect the environmental effects of hosting a football setting and the club’s ongoing initiatives, combined in a simple and digestible format.
Tottenham Hotspur finished better in this year’s table, along with Liverpool, and continues to show leadership in minimising environmental effects across its operations.

Ben Davies was one of the men’s first team players to take part in sustainability education at the club and said: “As players, we are fully aware of the amount of work the club is doing on the sustainability front. Education provided us with an understanding of the effect a large organization like ours can have on the environment while explaining how to reduce our emissions and be as sustainable as possible. The more informed we are on the subject, the better we can be – it’s taking small steps as Americans and, by using our platforms to inspire others to do the same, it all adds up. “
Claire Poole, founder of Sport Positive, said: “Tottenham Hotspur won the biggest themes in our matrix because of their holistic efforts in the categories where we collect data on clubs, such as participation, politics, energy, food, biodiversity, education and communications. We commend Spurs in particular for offering all of their players sustainability and climate training. As the wonderful David Attenborough said, saving our planet now is a communication challenge.
