Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Archie Gray from Leeds United after rejecting an offer for him from Brentford.

Talks continue and all parties hope that an agreement can be reached, although nothing has been closed at the moment.

Gray underwent a medical at Brentford on Saturday after agreeing to non-public terms, but has since replaced his brain and will join Spurs if he leaves Leeds.

Tottenham are among a multitude of suitors from the Premier League and across Europe for the 18-year-old midfielder and the north London club have been reading the scenario for months.

Brentford put himself in the most powerful position and was on course to win the race, but his proposal, valued at around £35m, was rejected.

Gray will hold talks with Tottenham on Sunday and private terms are not yet set; A replacement in command is recently taking place.

The Athletic reported in an issue of Transfer DealSheet that Spurs had company and a long-standing admiration for the much-loved teenager.

They tried to protect Gray with a technical some time before he signed a professional contract with Leeds at the age of 17, but England Under-21s stayed at Elland Road.

Gray, the great-nephew of beloved former Leeds player and manager Eddie Gray, enjoyed a decisive crusade with Leeds last season, playing in all competitions.
