The crusade will cover the club’s past, provide and long-term through the creation of opportunities within the black community, with a key in education and training. The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation will offer educational sessions to young people from the club’s local Black History Month network.

The sessions will cover the history of the club’s black players and key black personalities in the history of the region, with the participation of players from the top men’s and women’s teams.

There are few more vital figures in the club’s black history than Walter Tull, the first black outfielder to appear in the Football League, making 10 appearances for the Spurs between 1909-11 and also britain’s first British-born black combat officer. “It is that we celebrate Black History Month as a way not only to reflect on what has been achieved, but also to try to create new opportunities and continue to push the barriers of our black network in education, the media and the game itself.

The club’s Premier League home game against West Ham United on Sunday, October 18 will be committed to Black History Month, with a special edition of the show of the day and the content featured on our screen prior to the N17 Live match.
