Tottenham Hotspur has shown that Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes will leave the club next month once his current contract is signed.
Confirmation was expected, especially after compatriot Sandro posted on his Instagram account that Gomes would leave North London less than two weeks ago.
A on Tottenham Hotspur’s official online website said: “Hourlho Gomes will have to leave the club at the end of his contract next month and we wish the goalkeeper the most productive for the future.”
“Gomes joined PSV Eindhoven in July 2008 and made 135 appearances in our colours, helping the team in a memorable way to qualify for the Champions League by finishing fourth in the 2009–10 season and being part of the team that reached the quarter-finals of the festival in the following campaign.”
Gomes has been associated with a White Hart Lane outing in the last two seasons, as he has not been in line with the demands of Hugo Lloris and Brad Friedel, respectively first and second choice goalkeepers.
The former PSV goalkeeper played in the 1899 Bundesliga Hoffenheim between January 2013 and April 2013, but his transfer was interrupted due to injury.
The 33-year-old has been connected to return to his home country and will now have plenty of time to weigh his traits this summer.
