Crystal Palace are offering a former Tottenham striker a replacement for Michael Olise and the reason why this move would be better for Spurs has been revealed.
Crystal Palace said goodbye to Olise last week when the 22-year-old left-footer joined Bayern Munich. Palace made just over £50m from the sale and will now be doubly determined to keep fellow stars Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze. .
But for this pairing to remain equally important it is that coach Oliver Glasner receives a suitable replacement for Olise.
To that end, Sky Sports says one player going through Palace’s bosses is former Tottenham striker Marcus Edwards.
Edwards, now 25 years old, left Tottenham for Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes and took 50% of the player’s financial rights.

Edwards then joined Sporting CP 3 years later, in 2022, and most importantly, Spurs retained their financial rights to the player.
His stake in Edwards was subsequently reduced by 15 per cent as part of the deal that brought Pedro Porro from Sporting to Spurs.
As such, Tottenham are in line to get 35% of the move-in fee if Edwards is sold through Sporting.
According to Sky Sports, that moment could come in this window, with Edwards open to the concept of returning to the Premier League.

The left-footer plays on the right wing and, as such, would constitute an equivalent replacement for Olise.
Edwards scored 15 goals in 44 appearances for Sporting last season. His efforts helped Ruben Amorim earn the Primeira Liga name by beating second-placed Benfica by 10 points.
A follow-up by the Evening Standard revealed that Sporting could cash in on Edwards in this window if donations in the region of £20m are received.
If Palace were to accept a £20m offer, Tottenham would receive £7m of their financial rights.
Crystal Palace have choice targets in mind and yet they are putting all their eggs in Edwards’ basket.
Another electric striker in the Selhurst Park microscope is Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville.
The Dutchman was almost unplayable in the league last season by scoring 20 goals and nine assists in the league alone. His exploits earned Summerville the name Championship Player of the Season.
However, the natural position of the right foot is the left and as such would constitute a direct substitute for Olise from a positional point of view.
Leeds will seriously accept any offer they receive for Summerville worth around £30 million.
