Tottenham may still end up signing a £34m striker who grew up supporting Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur will sign a new striker this summer.

Spurs are still without a good replacement for Harry Kane after promoting the England captain last summer, and now want a new striker.

Ange Postecoglou’s team has connected with several to update Harry Kane.

Kane’s England teammate Ivan Toney has been heavily linked with Tottenham. Interestingly, Spurs are now linked with the England foreign striker.

According to Caught Offside, Tottenham still have Tammy Abraham on their radar this summer.

The £34m Roma striker has been linked with a move away from the Italian capital for a while now, and with Artem Dovbyk set to arrive in Rome, the striker may be sent off the door.

Abraham is said to be a target for Tottenham, but interestingly, the striker has close links with Arsenal at some level.

In fact, although Abraham would possibly end up playing for Spurs, he grew up rooting for Arsenal.

Interestingly, Tammy Abraham admitted in 2017 that he grew up as an Arsenal fan.

“When you’re young and you choose who to support, if it’s a family matter, it’s a family matter,” Abraham said.

“Fortunately for me, it was a family affair, so it wasn’t a challenge at Chelsea. Someone I admired was Thierry Henry.

“His finishing variations, his movement, his way of dribbling. Someone like that has a key effect on me.

“I would love to be as tall as him and even better. “

Of course, Abraham’s affiliations at Arsenal will make this proposed transfer to Spurs complicated, but it’s not something we’ve never noticed before.

The striker will be the first Arsenal fan to play for Spurs.

In fact, over the years, Spurs have played some Arsenal enthusiasts for the club.

Matt Doherty managed Arsenal in his youth, and the club even referenced the Irishman for Arsenal when announcing his signing on social media.

Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski had said in the past that Arsenal were his favourite team before signing for Tottenham.

Nowadays, the player doesn’t really matter, they are professional athletes, and the only team that matters to them is the team they make up at that particular moment.

Abraham may still be a signing for Tottenham, although he grew up as an Arsenal fan.
