Tottenham turned to Dominic Solanke and four teenagers this summer to give Ange Postecoglou the best chance of making a fortune in his second season at the helm. Solanke, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray made their competitive deyets on Monday night, but things didn’t go well. to plan, as newly promoted Leicester City earned a 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium.
The Spurs hierarchy are reportedly weighing up the possibility of bringing in a new midfielder ahead of the August 30 deadline, but departures will also be incredibly high in the coming days, with several fringe players set to leave.

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan singled out three Tottenham stars and said they were disappointing under Ange Postecoglou.
With less than two weeks to go until the move-in window, the Spurs are running out of time to deal with Jordan’s considerations and bring more firepower.
“I mean, there’s a few other Spurs players that I don’t think are setting the position on fire,” Jordan told talkSPORT.
“I don’t think Brennan Johnson is setting the player on fire, I don’t think (Dejan) Kulusevski is setting the player on fire, and they’re more worried about me because of Tottenham’s strength of intensity with Timo Werner in the mix. It will still be noticeable if this team will compete.
Juventus manager Thiago Motta has shown that Tottenham target Federico Chiesa cannot leave the Italian club this summer.
Chiesa is not part of Motta’s plans for the new season and could simply help Ange Postecoglou’s front line, who failed to convert several opportunities in their first 1-1 draw against Leicester.
“Our position on Federico Chiesa has changed,” Motta said of Chiesa’s future.
“It’s not part of our planes. Hablamos. Es a demonstration of the respect I have for everyone. Transparency, clarity, that’s how I do with my players. “
Oliver Skipp’s £25m move to Leicester was only revealed yesterday, however, he has already committed to returning to Tottenham, as a fan.
After 18 years in north London, Skipp officially left in search of normal time to play, but he will keep Spurs close to their centre when at the King Power Stadium.
“After 18 years at my childhood club, it’s time to say goodbye,” Skipp wrote on Instagram.
“It has been an incredible adventure that started when I was five years old in 2006 until today in 2024. There are so many special memories that I will never forget. To have played more than a hundred times for the Club is a great honour and a privilege.
“Finally, thank you very much to all the fans, players and president for everything you have done for me. One day I will return as a fan! COYS. “
Tottenham’s long-term target Conor Gallagher won’t cross London, but the Chelsea player is on his way to Atletico Madrid.
The Athletic claim Gallagher will return to Spain to put the finishing touches on a £36million deal.
An agreement has been reached, João Félix is going in the opposite direction.
Although a deal with Barcelona was reportedly approved through the Spanish club, Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon would welcome a return to Manchester United.
The defender spent the first part of last season on loan at Old Trafford, before being sent to Brentford.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says Reguilon is pinning his hopes on returning to United this summer, which is looking for defensive reinforcements.
Injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have already propelled the Red Devils into action, but Reguilon may yet remain in the Premier League.
Tottenham target Bradley Locko ruptured his Achilles tendon and now faces a year out.
Spurs reportedly kept an eye on the 22-year-old Locko earlier this summer after his very good season with Brest.
Nottingham Forest were also looking for the left-back.
But Locko may not be going anywhere after his devastating setback, and a long road to recovery is on the horizon.
Sergio Reguilón is heading back to La Liga.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has reportedly made a move for the Tottenham full-back, who will be allowed to leave north London this month.
However, it is said that some senior officials at Camp Nou are opposed to welcoming Reguilón.
The 27-year-old was born in Madrid and spent 15 years on the books of Barca’s rival Real before signing for Spurs in 2020.
AS Monaco have yet to secure an offer for Vanderson, according to L’Equipe, and it would take something “substantial” to be able to share tactics with the Brazilian.
Tottenham are rumoured to be an offer for Vanderson, who would compete with Pedro Porro at right-back.
Monaco have signed Jordan Teze, who plays in the same position, it is unclear if the Dutchman is seen as a replacement or a way to improve the team’s depth.
Tottenham will bring in Guglielmo Vicario before the window closes and Tommaso Martinelli has caught their eye, according to movement expert Paul O’Keefe.
Martinelli has already had a taste of senior football with Fiorentina at the age of 18, and he has earned caps for Italy through the various youth levels.
Spurs have named Brandon Austin on the bench for Monday’s draw against Leicester City, but the 25-year-old, who has never played a senior game for Tottenham, could soon be forced back down the pecking order.
Joan Garcia has reportedly reached an agreement with Arsenal following interest from Tottenham.
Spurs are rumored to be eyeing the goalkeeper ahead of this with a view to making him Guglielmo Vicario’s replacement.
But Arsenal appear to have beaten them, with Fabrizio Romano claiming Tottenham’s north London rivals have set non-public terms for the Espanyol man.
Garcia is expected to replace David Raya and upgrade Aaron Ramsdale, who has attracted interest from the Premier League and abroad.
AS Monaco have shown the signing of Jordan Teze from PSV Eindhoven, which could pave the way for Vanderson’s departure.
Tottenham reportedly have right-back Vanderson as a replacement for Emerson Royal.
It remains to be noted that Teze’s £10. 2 million move will grease the wheels of Vanderson’s potential move to north London.

Roma are in the race to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham to Express Sport.
But the Italian giants will make a move for the midfielder if Paulo Dybala reaches the Saudi Pro League.
And Dybala would have a tendency to stay in Serie A.
Aston Villa and Real Betis are also interested in Lo Celso and are waiting for the Spurs star to make his final decision.
Tottenham will want to sell him before the deadline and would prefer to do so permanently.
Charlotte FC and Fenerbahce are not in the running to sign Lo Celso despite recent speculation.
Tottenham could pocket £8m if Leeds United sign Jack Clarke.
The Merengues are reportedly chasing the winger after their 15th La Liga last season.
And Sunderland will expect around £20 million.
However, a sale clause of up to 40 cents would give Spurs £8m of that pay and increase their overall profit from the sale of Clarke, who has only made four senior appearances for the North Londoners.
Tottenham’s hopes of landing Eberechi Eze were dashed this week when his release clause expired.
Crystal Palace would have been helpless if Spurs or any other suitors had splashed out £60m earlier this summer, but the expiry of Eze’s clause means the Eagles can ask for whatever value they want.
And with playmaker Michael Olise joining Bayern Munich earlier in the window, Palace would have to fight for Eze.
Spurs’ need for a new winger is no longer as pressing following the signing of Wilson Odobert from Burnley, but an overdue Hail Mary for Eze is ruled out.
Ange Postecoglou has already welcomed Dominic Solanke, Archie Gray, Wilson Odobert, Lucas Bergvall and Min-hyeok Yang to Tottenham this summer, and a sixth signing is possibly not far off.
Spurs have been connected with AS Monaco right-back Vanderson after Emerson Royal arrived at AC Milan.
And now a key step has been taken for Vanderson’s departure to materialise, with Jordan Teze from PSV Eindhoven revealing that an agreement has been reached for him to join Monaco and update the Brazilian.
Reports say Spurs have held talks over signing Vanderson and an initial offer of £27. 3m is being prepared.
