Tottenham signed Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky for £12m.
Kinsky, who signed to Slavia Prague, is the first signing through Angel Postcoglou since the January window.
The 21 -year -old can be in the race to debut in the first leg of the Copao Cup Capao on Wednesday against Liverpool or in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday in Tamworth.
It will supply a canopy for the injured Guglielmo Vicario and the Festival for Fraser Forster and Brandon Austin, who made his senior debut opposite to Newcastle.
Due to a change in the UEFA rule, Kinsky will play in the knockout stages of the Europa League, even if he has already played for some other club in the competition.
He said: “I’m happy, it’s been fantastic to sign the contract. Tottenham is a great call and I am happy.
“I talked to the coaches, spoke with the sports director and I had the feeling that it would be the choice. “
Hours after Kinsky’s arrival was confirmed, Spurs number one Vicario posted a video of himself on Instagram walking without crutches or protective boots as he continues to recover from a damaged ankle.
Back in November, Vicario fractured his ankle in a clash against Manchester City.
Despite the coup, Chief Postecoglou revealed that the Italian is doing his to return to action soon.
The Aussie tactician said: “He’s going well, typical of Vic, he’s pushing every boundary. Obviously, he’s still a fair bit away, but whatever timeline that is, he will make sure he’s back as quickly as possible.
“He’s still very much in the group. We saw him last night, he also trains every day.
“He’s so interested in what we’re doing, the goalkeepers, the whole group.
“He’s one of the leaders and, yes, he’s progressing well.”
While Vicario has missed eight Premier League games, veteran Forser has filled his boots.
The spurs do not win in their last 4 games.
