Tottenham sign goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague

Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky on a long-term contract.

The 21st year is for the Czech League leaders in the first Slavia Prague League, where they kept 12 clean sheets in their 19 league games.

Sources close to Tottenham have indicated that the Premier League will pay a payment of more than £10m ($12. 4m), adding bonuses and add-ons for Kinsky.

This movement is expected to end later today (Saturday) with Kinsky signing a contract with the Spurs until 2030. Kinsky is expected to challenge NO. 1 in Tottenham and it is not a backup.

Spurs lost first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario to a right ankle injury in November, with Fraser Forster deputising in the Italian’s absence in their last 10 games.

Tottenham’s main coach Ange Postecoglou showed in a press convention on Friday that Vicario is expected to return to action until the end of February.

Having previously ruled out signing a free agent goalkeeper to challenge Forster in Vicario’s absence, Postecoglou was also again asked about possible additions in the winter transfer window.

“It’s a little tricky around January. Whether it’s the Spurs or anyone else, if someone is looking for a full in January, it’s usually because of some kind of need,” Postecoglou said. “Most clubs do not plan reinforcements in January and that is why January is difficult. Not only for us, but for all clubs.

“We can still locate a central floor where we can bring the correct type of player and assistance to the organization of the players at this time because they want that support.

“The club is running as hard as it can, me. They’re not having New Year’s Eve parties, they’re running to check our stage and they’ll continue to do so.

Kinsky is a young Czech foreigner, but called up to his recent senior national teams, remaining on the bench for his country’s Nations League matches in October and November.

Slavia Prague has been contacted to comment.
