Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly in a position to approve a £60million move to sign Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze this summer.
Spurs have already secured two signings: Archie Gray from Leeds United and Lucas Bergvall joining Djurgarden.
But now, Ange Postecoglou, Levy and Tottenham’s recruitment team will include a new striker alongside Eze as the most sensible on their list this summer.
Eze suffered some injuries last season at Crystal Palace, but still managed to play 27 Premier League games, scoring 11 goals and 4 assists.
The form has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs and now, The Sun claims Tottenham are “ready to activate” the England international’s £60m clause.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed an update on Eze a few weeks ago, stating that “there is nothing at a complex stage” for the 26-year-old.
Romano said: “To Eberechi Eze, I see a lot of questions coming from you, but right now what I hear is that there is nothing at a complex stage yet. Crystal Palace still hope he stays.
“The termination clause is also in his contract, so he will have the termination clause. But at the moment, it’s still nothing that’s happening today, it’s still nothing imminent.
It has already been suggested that Eze will move to north London this summer, with former Tottenham right-back Alan Hutton predicting that Spurs would pay £60m to bring the Crystal Palace winger to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Array.
Speaking to Tottenham News, Hutton said: “He goes out and plays with a smile on his face, he plays with a lot of freedom and has a lot of attacking quality.
“He can score goals, he can help, he is the kind of guy you want and he has been rewarded for his form by being selected for the England squad.
“I think he could become a shining star, so £60 million is fair. If you take a look at some of the costs that are adding up lately to players who are good, I can understand it. If it’s going to be achieved at that price, I think Levy will spend it.
