Player ratings from Tottenham Hotspur’s Week 17 clash with Liverpool are obviously slanted to the big-winning visitors to north London.
[ MORE: Spurs vs Liverpool recap | 3 things learned ]
This is how we saw the day of the Spurs behind and the ruthless day of the Liverpool forward.
Fraser Forster: 4 — Not going to do anything about the first goal and the second’s a big ask, too, but slow to react either way if he was going to make a big stop on either. Four saves and five goals allowed on 3.50 expected goals on target.
DJED SPENCE: Four: A little nervous, looked for the same ball as Gray in the moment and couldn’t close down wide attackers like Porro on the other side. I blocked 3 shots, but everything went wrong.
Archie Gray: five. I looked at his age several times and found out the hard way that you can play well with Mo Salah and still have a chance to break the crossbar.
Radu Dragusin: Four: Make a series of possible bad options that will save him from entering defensive moments.
Pedro Porro: 5. 5 – Responsible for a purpose but also one of the only Spurs players who generate in the other direction. A game of 14 raisins in the final third.
Yves Bissouma: 5. 5 – did what he could just in front of a struggling defensive line during the first half, then joined them in a forty-five minute second spell.
Pape Sarr (out of 68 ‘): Five: See the Bissouma rating, except the last 22 minutes.
Heung-Min Jr. (out of 82′): 5. 5-Ready for this, sloppy. A lazy, even sarcastic, offside stopped a Spurs chance.
James Maddison (Off 58′): 7 — If anything’s true about the mercurial Maddison, he shows up for big games. Great goal.
Dejan Kulusvski: 8. 5 – Helped bring about Maddison’s purpose billing, and was smart every day and every day on a day when his teammates were struggling to adapt.
Dominic Solanke: 7 – Hungry for the ball in the first half, recovered, scored a goal and got an assist.
Substitutesbennan Johnson (at 58′): 6 – worked hard, received a decisive pass. Lucas Bergvall (five8th): five – Brutal in Liverpool’s last goal. Timo Werner (82′): – n/a
Alisson Becker: 6 – I will not prevent any of the goals. I had much more to do.
Andy Robertson: 6 — Has picked his spots well to move forward.
Virgil van Dijk: 8 — Not at fault for the goal. Good with the ball while ringing up 11 defensive actions. A remarkable 9-for-9 in duels.
Joe Gomez: 7 — Much of the same as Van Dijk, just not as strong.
Trent Alexander-Arnold: 9. Had full hands and feet with the heung-min sound, but oh my goodness, vision and passing when Liverpool have the ball. Great to give Díaz a hand. He led the game in touches and created opportunities. He also led the game in defensive actions.
Ryan Gravenberch: 6. 5 – busy and clean, but somehow, without leaving a strong mark on the game.
Dominik Szoboszlai: 8-Won the head that Mac Allister the goal, then scored oneself. He wins almost all duels. Between Szoboszlai, Díaz and Salah, the trio succeeded 20 attempts for shooting.
Alexis Mac Allister (excluding 68′): 7-Beh, a lot of good, through the Reds’ purpose score, but he lost the ball with the Spurs’ purpose at the end of the half, and then it earned him a point. Four interceptions and nine recoveries.
Mohamed Salah (87′): 9. 5 – broke the crossbar early and gave Spurs on the left side a real headache. A big setback in Szoboszlai for the third goal before the shot to continue his attack on the Premier League season and career records. Then he configures the moment of Díaz. Upper form, tall and impressive.
Cody Gakpo (Off 68′): 7 – solid but spectacular.
Luis Díaz (87′): nine – What a great header to open the scoring and brilliant paintings to start and end the sixth goal.
SubsCurtis Jones (On 68′): 6 — Good with the ball, not doing much without it.Diogo Jota (On 68): 6 — Who lot of nothing aside from butchering a chance at a header. Harvey Elliott (On 87′): — N/ADarwin Nunez (On 87′): — N/A
