It all ended in north London as Spurs came back from 1-0 down to beat Luton 2-1, thanks to a timely goal from their captain Son Heung-Min! Although Luton pushed for an early goal to concede Chong’s first-half goal, it was Spurs who equalized just six minutes into the second half. Vicario parried Barkley’s shot from the side and within moments Johnson’s seductive cross from the right unfortunately turned into his own goal through Kabore. Spurs continued to push for a winner through Son, Werner, Porro and Johnson, while Clark went close for Luton at the other end. Everything was denied by Kaminski and Vicario in their respective networks, but the locals recovered with only 4 minutes remaining. Werner’s cross headed towards Son via Johnson, and the Tottenham captain scored the winning goal that sparked chaos in the stands. The hosts held on for a 2-1 victory that returned them to the winners’ circle, while Luton’s wait for three editions of the Premier League extends beyond two months. Spurs are back in fourth place (for now), while Luton’s defeat sees them fall back into the relegation zone as the season’s final stretch begins.

The Dutch striker also finished off a pass in the last 3 and came through all six of his duels, returning ownership four times and winning four. Free throws in the process, with the Hatters struggling to keep the ball as productive as possible, under the wave, after a wave of tension from the home side.

15:59

You’d be forgiven for forgetting that the Hatters had even scored, given how one-sided the rest of the game was in Tottenham’s favour. Werner shot wide just in front, and a few minutes later a wild series saw Son touch either post before Sarr and Werner were turned away by saving blocks. Porro was called into action at the other end of the pitch to prevent Doughty from flying towards Luton’s moment, but other than that, it was one-way traffic towards Kaminski’s goal. Chong dug deep to help Doughty and did his best to get away from Porro, but eventually fell to the ground through Tottenham’s right-back and won a free-kick midway through the game.

Nottingham Forest’s deduction of financial fair play breaches has seen them fall below Luton at the bottom of the relegation spot, but the Hatters are still just one point away from the trap heading into this game. Rob Edwards’ team hasn’t won since the end. January and only managed a draw against Forest in their last game thanks to Luke Berry’s equaliser in the 89th minute, however, after being unlucky enough to get nothing out of their 1-0 defeat to Spurs in the away game, Luton arguably well have the confidence to get a first league win here in two months.

14:44

Spurs return from the foreign break with 10 games left in the season and, as a result, the race for a Champions League position is heating up.
