Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min overcame to secure a 2-1 Premier League win over Luton Town to spice up his side’s top-four ambitions on Saturday.
Son started and finished a fluid move by Tottenham in the 86th minute to leave relegation-fighting Luton with nothing to prove for a demonstration in north London.
Tahith Chong gave Luton a wonderful lead but Son denied the ball soon after. Tottenham equalized in the 51st minute when Issa Kaboré scored an own goal and the hosts’ tension was finally rewarded with Son’s decisive goal.
Tottenham climbed to fourth place with 56 points, ahead of Aston Villa in goals scored, Villa was in action later at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Luton have pushed Nottingham Forest back into the relegation zone.

It all ended in north London as Spurs came back from 1-0 down to beat Luton 2-1, thanks to a timely goal from their captain Son Heung-Min! Although Luton pushed for an early goal to concede Chong’s first-half goal, it was Spurs who equalized just six minutes into the second half. Vicario parried Barkley’s shot from the side and within moments Johnson’s seductive cross from the right unfortunately turned into his own goal through Kabore. Spurs continued to push for a winner through Son, Werner, Porro and Johnson, while Clark went close for Luton at the other end. Everything was denied by Kaminski and Vicario in their respective networks, but the locals recovered with only 4 minutes remaining. Werner’s cross headed towards Son via Johnson, and the Tottenham captain scored the winning goal that sparked chaos in the stands. The hosts held on for a 2-1 victory that returned them to the winners’ circle, while Luton’s wait for three editions of the Premier League extends beyond two months. Spurs are back in fourth place (for now), while Luton’s defeat sees them fall back into the relegation zone as the season’s final stretch begins.
