Tottenham vs Man United Score: Carabao Cup Result, Highlights, Stats as Spurs Wild error error

It was a goalkeeping spectacle at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday, but not the kind you’d expect when Spurs beat Manchester United 4-3 in one of the dumbest games in recent memory.

The match had four goal errors, two on each side, plus what was necessarily a goal of their own to end it.

In the end, the Spurs would easily become the fourth and last team to qualify for the semifinals of the EFL Cup.

The first half was marked by lively but discreet exchanges, as demonstrated by Dominic Solanke in the 15th minute, after a poor moment by Man United’s substitute goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir, who was substituted to rest André Onana.

Spurs would find themselves 3-0 up just 10 minutes into the second half, with Dejan Kulusevski scoring less than a minute after the restart and Solanke grabbing his brace shortly after, seemingly putting the home side well and truly through into the semifinals. Oh, if we only knew what would come.

From there, Fraser Forster gave Man United one and two goals to see them come back, first passing the ball straight to Bruno Fernandes on the byline to see Joshua Zirkzee score, before being dispossessed by Amad Diallo, who brought down the ball towards the net.

20 minutes from the end, United hunting for a sensational equalization, but heung-min a very vital room for the Spurs marking an Olympic, the corner sailing on Bayindir that judged him horribly.

Spurs wouldn’t go through without one more calamitous error in stoppage time, as Yves Bissouma essentially headed the ball in his own net off a corner.

Bissouma was only saved on the scoresheet by a slight deflection off the head of Johnny Evans which officially gave the United defender the goal.

In the end, Tottenham saw their names among the semi-finalists, but they made it as nervous and embarrassing as one can imagine.

Full time: Tottenham 4-3 Man United

Tottenham barely survive an absolutely absurd match! The hosts went ahead 3-0 before trying extremely hard to cough it up, but Heung-Min Son’s Olimpico proves the difference in the end! What a wild game!

90 four min: Objective!  Yves Bissouma turned a corner into his own net!

During the repetition, Johnny Evans claimed him because the last header was cut off his header, but Bissouma the only one to start the redirection of the ball towards his own purpose! Four errors of the purpose, and now what is necessarily your own purpose!

90 1 minute: Tottenham replaces him and Djed Spence replaces Sergio Reguilón. Bruno Fernandes is reserved for a while.

88th min: GOAL! TOTTENHAM! HEUNG-MIN SON SCORES STRAIGHT FROM A CORNER!

It’s yet another moment of a really terrible goalkeeper, because Altay Bayindir doesn’t follow the flight of the ball and sees him directing his head into the top corner! It’s a delightful moment for his son coming out of the Olimpico, but for Bayindir, my word is poor.

The Man United goalkeeper mourns the foul, but all he has is a precaution. Replies show a slight touch from Lucas Bergvall on the goalkeeper, but surely there is nothing in him. He just misjudged it! The start of the school year is in ruins!

Minute 79: A replacement for Spurs when James Maddison is replaced by James Bergvall, since Ange Postecoglou knows that his midfield wants more solidity.

74 Minute: Good luck, united man!  It’s delightful from Manchester United who temporarily built ownership in the third attack before moving it from left to right. He finishes Noussair Mazraoui from a tight angle, but fires his shot very wide!

United have their tails up and have snatched all the momentum, can they produce a sensational equalizer?

Minute 72: Rubén Amorim smells blood in the water and makes his throat, which makes Alejandro Garnacho update Manuel Ugarte. It is surprising why Garnacho did not start, with Antony decided to deactivate, but now he is lucky.

70th min: GOAL! MAN UNITED! MY OH MY, FRASER FORSTER WITH ANOTHER DISASTROUS ERROR! And this one’s even worse than the last!

The Tottenham goalkeeper takes a back-pass from Archie Gray, and he takes ages to decide what to do with the ball! In the end, Amad Diallo comes sliding in and tackles the ball straight into the back of the net before Forster could release a pass!

67 minute: Good luck, united man!  Damn be, the Spurs are taken out of nowhere! Fraser Forster grants a very stupid corner while in possession, and from an established piece, amad diallo takes a deviant shot that slowly passes a few centimeters from the distant post!

What the hell are the hosts doing? They were 3-0 up and through the semifinals and were subjected to a Man United tension torrent!

63rd min: GOAL! MAN UNITED! Moments after being denied by a great save, Joshua Zirkzee pulls Man United one back! It’s an absolutely CALAMITOUS moment for Spurs, as Fraser Forster gives the ball straight to Bruno Fernandes basically on the end line! He feeds Zirkzee right on the goal mouth for a gift of a lifeline!

Use? Maybe?

62nd min: Chance, Man United! Joshua Zirkzee has just come on and is immediately denied by a wonderful Fraser Forster save! An excellent cross from deep in the left corner flies over the head of Archie Gray, who misjudges the flight of the ball, and it lands right on the forehead of Zirkzee who aims for the lower right-hand corner of the net. Yet Forster scrambles across so well and makes a brilliant save!

57 minute: Leave Kulusevski today confuses Manchester United. He introduced himself in a race for the right flank that left two defenders on his back before a wild hack of Lisandro Martínez pumped the ball for a corner. Today he is cooking.

54th min: GOAL! TOTTENHAM! Ruben Amorim is set to make a few attacking changes, but before he can do so, Dominic Solanke makes it 3-0! The hosts have run riot since the start of the second half!

Solanke makes a great run near the midfield stripe and Djed Spence finds him, clearly onside despite protests from the United defenders. He gets one-on-one with Lenny Yoro and beats him, putting Ruben Amorim’s rotated side to bed.

The changes come too late now, as Amad Diallo, Joshua Zirkzee, and Kobbie Mainoo all enter to replace Antony, Rasmus Hojlund, and Christian Eriksen.

46th min: GOAL! TOTTENHAM! Dejan Kulusevski scores 50 seconds into the second half! A lateral cross by James Madisson deflects off a Lisandro Martinez and falls right to Kulusevski’s feet! He’s deserved that, the best player on the pitch today so far!

He is now making 4 games for Kulusvski in his last 4 games!

Kick-off of the 2nd half: The ball rolls while the second half takes place. There will be no adjustments in any aspects when we go through again.

HALFTIME: Tottenham 1-0 Man United

There’s been a lot of attacking intent by both sides, but not too much quality at the end of it, as Dominic Solanke’s goal is the difference at the halftime break.

They left Kulusevski played well in the 3rd attack to put the Spurs in dangerous positions, while Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund were also brilliant for United. Christian Eriksen had two intelligent opportunities blocked by a bad completion, while Victor Lindelof was forced to withdraw due to another injury.

United need a bit of inspiration in the final third to finish their clever attacking moves, and there are more goals in this game in the second half. The fit is very suitable for both sides.

45 2 min: Opportunity, Man United!  Christian Eriksen had another brilliant opportunity blocked from the same shooting position and almost exactly in the same position as the defender! It is a coal copy of the first opportunity! Twice in the first half annulled!

44 Minute: Here is a genuine fear for Manchester United as Victor Lindelof, who has been plagued by injuries all year, has been forced onto the pitch due to injury. was incredibly frustrated and discouraged.

34th minute: Dejan Kulusevski, who has been brilliant (or as the commentator calls him, “full of beans”), receives the ball inside the left edge of the back six area. Cut close to the post, he hopes to arrive to throw a sideways ball at the goal, but is blocked for a corner by a slide by Lisandro Martínez.

25 min: Luck, Tottenham!  And now Naussair Mazraoui gets the yellow card he deserved a few minutes ago when he reached a 50/50 ball past and put Djed Spence on his stomach.

From the resulting free-kick, the ball reaches Dejan Kulusevski on the left edge of the penalty area, and his ferocious close-angle shot is stopped through Altay Bayindir, who covers his near post awkwardly but quite well.

23rd min: Pape Sarr is booked for a painful foul in midfield on Bruno Fernandes. He was covering the space vacated by Pedro Porro who had pushed way up the pitch.

Minute 22: Chance, Man United!  Christian Eriksen moves candidly on the most sensitive part of the surface as she latches onto a lateral pass from Diogo Dalot on the left, but she is blocked by Yves Bissouma just before reaching the goal.

Then, Noussair Mazraoui was lucky not to be warned for a serious and stupid foul on the touchline near the corner flag that ended up with attacking possession.

21st minute: Pedro Porro plays an incredibly clumsy but effective version on Bruno Fernandes to deny the Star United man a loose shot on goal! Man United plays straight and over the top, and it almost works.

Minute 15: Goal! Tottenham!  Dominic Solanke scores the opener after a moment, say, from United Backup goalkeeper Altay Bayindir! Pedro Porro shoots from the acres outside the most sensitive part of the penalty area, and the effort has genuine pace, it is not well placed and it is dug up in the middle of the network.

Bayindir doesn’t react well and can only bet the ball, which he does on Solanke’s trail that stays wide and lunges for a simple finish! The rotation of Ruben Amorim’s team is presented as an early weakness!

12th min: Chance, Man United! Oh dear, Rasmus Hojlund is clean through on goal but can’t even get a shot off! The Man United striker is played in brilliantly by a wonderful Bruno Fernandes vertical ball that sees him perfectly split the two Spurs center-backs down the middle.

However, Hojlund does not have the speed or the first touch to go beyond the defenders, and before he can shoot, he is dispossessed by Radu Dragusin. A great possibility will beg!

Tenth minute: Manchester United gets the first corner of the match, which awkwardly pulls away through Tottenham goalkeeper Fraser Forster. The Red Devils had most of the possession, Spurs looked very damaging with some counterattacks.

A lively start to the match, even with only one chance of genuine quality on the side.

2nd min: Luck, Tottenham!  Yves Bissouma wins the ball in midfield and Springs has a Spurs counter, which is well controlled through Heung-Min Jr. He discovered Dejan Kulusvski on the left with a vertical ball, who looked to bring it back to his son with a quality cut, but it moved away from the South Korean foreigner and was cleared. You’re close to an early goal!

Kickoff: They’re under way in London at the home of Tottenham Hotspur! The 2024/25 Carabao Cup awaits the decision of who will be the last semifinal participant.

15 mins to kickoff: Easily the player with the biggest spotlight on them today will be Manchester United winger Antony, who has struggled mightily to justify his hefty price tag in his time with the Red Devils so far. It’s a big call from Ruben Amorim to pick him in this spot over the likes of Alejandro Garnacho who is just coming off his Puskas Award win.

Bayindir, Lindelof, Eriksen and Antony, all for Man United vs Spurs. Garnacho on the bench. No Rashford.

30 minutes before kicking: You can locate our forecasts and our bets for this adjustment here.

These two groups lacked consistency this season, making this fit incredibly difficult to predict, but we opted for Manchester United to punish Tottenham for their weaknesses.

1 hour forty-five minutes before kick-off: It’s an attractive twist of fate that United’s top two Carabao Cup wins this season, a 7-0 defeat to Barnsley and a 5-2 win over Leicester City, each under two less than two two Managers: Erik Ten Hag supervised the former, while Ruud Van Nistelrooy acted as interim manager of the latter.

2 hours to go: A primary Manchester Derby storyline has been the exclusion of Marcus Rashford, whose long career with the club has come into question again. Rashford himself told the media that he is “looking for a new challenge” in this next window of movement, but also admitted that he is walking long-term in the hope of getting some playing time.

The EFL Cup may just have been an opportunity for Ruben Amorim to give Rashford a get started and permit him to turn out he can contribute. However, the England foreign has reportedly been left out of the squad absolutely once again, a strong sign that Rashford’s long run lies elsewhere.

? Marcus Rashford: “It is discouraging to be sent from a derby . . . but it happened, we won the game, so we will continue. ” “It is disappointing, but I am also someone as I aged, I can take care of myself. What is done crying?
