He was the most productive and the worst on Tottenham, since he beat Manchester United to reach the semifinals of the League Cup. The Ange Postecoglou team led 1-0 at the break after Dominic Solanke followed Pedro Porro’s shot to score.
Dejan Kulusevski made it two seconds after the interval, pouncing on a weak clearance from Lisandro Martinez. And the game seemed over when Solanke latched onto a long ball to make it 3-0.
But then Fraser Forster set up two goals as United set up a nervy finish. His intercepted short pass allowed Joshua Zirkzee to score, before Amad charged at him to make it 3-2.
Until death, the goalkeeper’s mistake came in the other end when his son heung-min passed over Altay Bayindir and, only Jonny Evans nodded before the final beep for the seventh goal of the game.
Express Sport brings you the ratings of the teams’ players. . .
Tottenham qualifications:
Fraser Forster 2
A great second-half save from Joshua Zirzkee before his nightmare started. Two huge blunders gifted United goals and didn’t deal with the cross for Evans to make it 4-3.
Pedro Porro 6
Lut struggled to keep up with Bruno Fernandes as the Portuguese playmaker ran down the left side in the first half, but inspired the attack, and his hard deflected shot led to the first goal.
Archie Gray 7
Not a natural centre-back, but does seem to be learning. Twice, he crucially got himself in the way of close-range shots in the first half.
Radu Draguisin 7
Dealt well with Hojlund but continues to be erratic in possession.
Djed Spence 7
It caused genuine upheaval in Antonio.
Papa Matar Sarr 6
He was slow to react as Fernandes began to locate a wide, reserved area in the first half for a reckless challenge on him. Much more assertive after the chaos due to part time.
Yves Bissouma 8
He beat his partner in the center of the countryside and one of the players in the field. He regularly interrupted the joint attacks and calmed the ball.
Leave Kulusevski 9
Again, an eye-opening sight. He almost conceded a goal in the first half before forcing Bayindir into a smart save and made no mistake when the ball fell close to him after the break.
James Maddison 7
Didn’t exert his usual influence but a quality overlap to latch onto Son’s ball before his low cross fell to Kulusevski for the second goal.
Son heung-min 8
He was entering and leaving the game, but threatened every time he was on the ball and his goal in the past, however, he appeared, he took care of things.

Dominic Solanke 9 Loves playing against United. Took both of his goals clinically and his link-up play was superb all night long. Watching Mr Tuchel?
Substitutes:
Lucas Bergvall (for Maddison, 79) arrived five with his team at the back and booked unnecessarily.
Brennan Johnson (for Solanke, 90 years old) arrived too past due to the difference.
Serge Reguilon (for Spence, 90) Like Johnson, simply sent on to waste seconds in injury time.
Man UTD Player Ratings:
Altay Bayindir 3
Be suspicious for the first goal, pushing the ball back to Solanke’s pass that was out of danger. A smart saving after that, but within dying seconds, he struggled when Son’s coin went straight in.
Leny Yoro 5
I would have thanked that moment, but I would have had difficulty dealing with the Son movement.
Viktor Lindelof 5
Anxiety for the Swedish is over because he forced in the first part with an injury.
Lisandro Martínez 4
Horrible demonstration of the Argentine. His weak clearance led to his team losing 2-0 and the victim of all-night intimidation through Solanke.
WOUSSAIR MAZRAOUI 6
He tried to influence his team in his extreme role, but took the wrong option. I lost a wonderful opportunity in 3-2.
Manuel Ugarte 5
If he was there to play the role of inspector, he did not do it. Still, he adapted to English football and got rid of Garnacho early.
Christian Eriksen7
Back at the home of his former club, and one of United’s best performers in the first half as he frequently got on the ball. Had one low shot blocked, made a vital defensive clearance and unlucky to be hauled off after an hour.
Diogo Dalot 5
He struggled to make any influence in the left-back role.
Antonio 4
He gave the ball the start and almost led to a Tottenham goal. This sets the tone for the mediocre display.
Bruno Fernandes 8
Pounced on Forster’s error to set up Zirkzee and gave his side a route back in. Involved in most of United’s best work.
Rasmus Hojlund 4
He played through Fernandes in the first half and hesitated and missed the chance to shoot. It provided no threat and Zirkzee significantly more alive.
Submarines:
Jonny Evans (for Lindlof, 43) 6
Defensive chaos after his arrival, but then spent much of the final 15 minutes on the attack, and controlled a comfortable purpose in the dying seconds.
Amad (for Antony, 55) 7
He gave United an additional size and his purpose was a natural determination on his part.
Joshua Zirkzee (for Hojlund, years) 8
Buzzed around, scored, and overall, he helped change the dynamic of the cup tie.
Kobbie Mainoo (Eriksen’s understudy, 56) 5
He was no longer his old self-assured self in possession, wasting a late attack with a misplaced pass.
Alejandro Garnacho (for Ugarte, 70) 7
Many eyes on him still gave him extra power as they drove towards a leveler.
