Tottenham ‘will push to buy’ England for £60,000,000 after Euro 2024

NEWS. . . BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Tottenham reportedly intend to make a move for England’s Eberechi Eze once the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 quest ends.

The Crystal Palace star is attracting interest from a number of Premier League stars and Spurs are said to be leading the race to sign him.

It’s no surprise to see Eze so coveted after a season with the Eagles where he scored 11 goals and had six assists in 31 appearances.

Nine of them came in the final 12 games of the campaign under new manager Oliver Glasner, and the improvement in form earned the 25-year-old a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the European Championship.

Last week, he made his debut in a primary tournament, coming off the bench to play the final 22 minutes of England’s 1-1 draw against Denmark.

Eze, who previously spent five years at Arsenal’s academy, joined Palace from QPR in 2020 in a deal worth £15m.

Like so many other Palace players, Eze has been linked with a big move out of Selhurst Park this summer and, according to The Athletic, Tottenham will “push to buy” the player when he returns from the European Championship.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are confident they can beat the player’s rivals and have been deterred by his release clause, believed to be worth around £60m.

It has already been reported that Eze is happy to remain in South London and will only leave if he believes the buying club can achieve his ambitions.

It is for this reason that his Palace team-mate Michael Olise has turned down the opportunity to sign for Chelsea or Manchester United, and the Frenchman is now set to sign for Bayern Munich as he may only They are offering you the Champions League.

With Glasner’s side getting £60m for Olise, they will be less susceptible to letting Eze leave and as his release clause cannot be activated in a straightforward way, it is conceivable that he will stay for next season.

For now, Eze is only aiming to help England in the Euro 2024 crusade, which continues on Sunday night when they face Slovakia in the round of 16.
