Tottenham will settle for an incredibly low payout for an expensive signing. Postecoglou has no choice but to do so.

Ange Postecoglou will not be reinstating the failed Tanguy Ndombele in his plans at Tottenham next season, and a report has revealed the surprising price Spurs will accept for his sale.

Ndombele Tottenham’s record-breaking signing when he arrived from Lyon in a deal cost an initial £55. 45m in 2019. Taking into account an additional £8. 97m in potential additions, the total price of the deal is higher than the £60m package agreed through Spurs. Everton when Richarlison signed 3 years later.

A number of Tottenham managers have failed to get the most out of Ndombele, who has been playing for the club since the early part of the 2021/22 campaign.

The 28-year-old was loaned to Lyon in 2022 before signing for Napoli on loan for the 2022/23 season.

Lyon and Napoli had characteristics to buy into their deals with Spurs and neither decided to settle for them.

Thus, a third loan was finalized, this time to Galatasaray, agreed in the early stages of the current campaign.

As with previous loan agreements, an option to reacquire it was agreed. Galatasaray have officially shown that they can sign Ndombele at the end of the season for just €15m/£12. 9m, with the payment to be paid in five annual instalments from 2025.

Ndombele has made 18 Super Lig appearances this season, the vast majority of them on the bench.

Amid fitness issues and asymmetry, the media in Turkey (quoted via Sport Witness) report that Galatasaray has already made the decision not to approve this option.

That leaves Spurs facing the prospect of finding a new client for Ndombele. The idea of reinstalling it in north London has already been rejected by manager Postecoglou, according to Turkish reports.

Ndombele’s contract with Spurs expires at the end of next season and as such, Tottenham are under pressure to agree a sale and recoup payment while they can.

According to Turkish sources, Tottenham’s desperation has reached new heights and it is notably claimed that they have presented Galatasaray with the possibility of signing Ndombele for the small fee of just €5m/£4. 3m.

However, even this small payment prompts Galatasaray to take Ndombele out of Tottenham’s hands. It is said that the Turkish giant is “cold to this proposal”.

Tottenham are hoping the club will try their luck with the French maverick this summer. If a deal is not reached, Ndombele will most likely leave as a free agent 12 months later.
