Tottenham are said to be “adamant” that Dominic Solanke needs to sign for them this summer, and the best chance of landing him is to force Bournemouth to sell.
Spurs have noticed a decline in attacking numbers in Harry Kane’s first season since breaking into the first team. In his greatest crusade as a Tottenham player, the Englishman scored 32 goals in all competitions.
Heung-min Son and Richarlison failed to match that figure last season, despite being the only Spurs men to surpass 10 goals this season.
Ange Postecoglou is looking for a quality striker to join the ranks this summer, with TEAMtalk recently reporting that Solanke and Ivan Toney were on the list.
GIVEMESPORT suggest Tottenham are “adamant” the former needs to sign up with them.
But of the two, Solanke, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season, will be paid the maximum (Bournemouth need £65m) and Spurs will be hoping they can convince the Cherries to accept a value reduction, in the order of £65m. 50 million.
Postecoglou’s team may have the possibility of getting Solanke for a lower price than Bournemouth wants, knowing that they need that move.
The report suggests that Tottenham’s most productive chance of signing the striker is if they “try to put pressure” on his club to promote him this summer.
Whether he will or will is anyone’s guess, as Bournemouth were convinced at the start of the summer that they would campaign for a move.
Given that interest from big clubs has now been confirmed, there’s a chance that it’s an exit, but given Solanke’s form for the Cherries, an aspect that gave him a chance after his failure at Liverpool, it’s unlikely that he’ll go to São Paulo.
