Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen could sign up for Manchester City by loose, as Sky Blues targets up to five summer recruits

Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen lately spends most of his time on the Tottenham bench.

Vertonghen recently signed a contract extension to remain in the Spurs until the end of the season.

However, at the end of the season, the former Ajax player is about to find a loose agent. Vertonghen is highly unlikely to signal a new deal with the Spurs.

On Tuesday, the Telegraph reports that Vertonghen could sign up for Manchester City this summer. Readers are informed:

Tottenham’s central defender, Jan Vertonghen, also has a possible loose-moving signature for Guardiola, and the 33-year-old is considered a short-term solution that can have compatibility directly with the City team.

The morning after Man City emerged victorious of his day at UEFA, revoking his two-year European ban, many subsequent pages of the English press focus on how the Sky Blues plan to rebuild this summer.

Man City has already shown himself as a Premier League finalist this season. Of course, Liverpool won the league.

While the Times suggests that Man City is targeting three new summer recruits, the Telegraph believes they can attract up to five new recruits.

Starting with the Times, we say to readers:

Although Covid-19’s pandemic has damaged the city’s finances, the club intends to buy 3 players with some of those they have saved.

In quick targets, the middle of Napoli Kalidou Koulibaly would be “leading the way” on The Manchester City’s list of candidates. You can charge only 70 million pounds.

Other central goals come with Ruben Dias (Benfica) and Pau Torres (Villarreal).

In addition to the central halves, City is also seeking to recruit a winger following leroy Sane’s signing of Bayern Munich. Ferran Torres del Valencia is an imaginable goal.

The Telegraph expands the list of imaginable summer additions to Man City.

As for the central halves, the Telegraph with the Times says Koulibaly is the main target, but it also includes the following players on the city’s shopping list:

Nathan Ake of Bournemouth, Caglar Soyuncu of Leicester, Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan and Dan-Axel Zagadou in Borussia Dortmund.

True to the defenders, the Telegraph also believes that Ben Chilwell of Leicester, which is a target of Chelsea, is the attention of the Sky Blues.

Climbing up the field, City is also connected to two midfielders: Jack Grealish of Aston Villa and Saul Nigeuz of Atletico Madrid.

Finally, the Telegraph believes that “the City is on the hunt for a striker,” it is not known which strikers are being considered.

Pep Guardiola’s contract with City will expire in 2021.

However, the Times verifies that the City Guardiola to signal a contract extension:

(Man City) also intends to inform Pep Guardiola about the extension of the coach’s contract, which expires next summer, following the club’s legal victory.

The Sky Blues hope to convince Guardiola to signal a one-year extension until 2022.

Spanish expert Guillem Balague also reported on City’s efforts to extend Guardiola’s contract.
