Tragedy in Germany after the death of a fan RB Leipzig vs Borussia Mönchengladbach as fans remain silent

A German football fan was tragically killed in RB Leipzig’s attack on Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Fans fell silent at the Red Bull Arena after a failed attempt to resuscitate him.

According to DW Sports, Leipzig fans remained “almost silent” following the heartbreaking incident.

It was also reported that a car accident before the attack claimed the life of a Mönchengladbach supporter.

This contributed to the gloomy atmosphere on the ground.

RB Leipzig secured a 2-0 win on a desperately unhappy night for both clubs.

Xavi Simons opened the scoring for the hosts in the 14th minute.

And Lois Openda secured the victory before the hour mark.

With this result, Leipzig is only one point behind fourth-placed Borussia Dortmund in the race for the Champions League places.

Meanwhile, Mönchengladbach are in 14th place and are still fighting relegation from the Bundesliga.

At the top of the table, Bayer Leverkusen got a big win with a 2-1 win over Heidenheim.

The result puts them 8 transparent places behind Bayern Munich after one more game is played.

Leverkusen beat Bayern 3-0 last weekend to give Thomas Tuchel’s men a mountain to climb if they want to win back-to-back league crowns.

And Harry Kane’s new club suffered even more sadness in midweek when they lost the first leg of the 16-inch Champions League circular 1-0 to Lazio.
