Training update from Carrington

Erik ten Hag’s squad is flying to Denmark this afternoon (Tuesday) for our Group A clash against FC Copenhagen, keen to get another three points on the board with Galatasaray away to Bayern Munich being the other fixture in our section this week.

The Reds won 1-0 against champions Denmark last time out in the competition, with Harry Maguire scoring the goal at Old Trafford and Andre Onana saving Jordan Larsson’s penalty to the death.

The good news is that Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford were part of the main outfield organisation. The Swede abroad fell ill and missed the dramatic 1-0 win at Fulham, with Maguire and Jonny Evans forming the central defensive component.

Rashford, last season’s leading goalscorer, failed a late fitness test after picking up an injury, and watched from the sidelines as skipper Bruno Fernandes fired home the late winner.

Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund took part in the session, as he looks forward to another reunion with his former club, as did Facundo Pellistri, who made a positive impression off the bench at Craven Cottage.
