CZECH REPUBLIC: The Prague Transport Authority (DPP) has decided on Eurovia CS for a CZK 1. 24 billion contract for the repatriation of trams to Václavského Náměstí.

The new tram tracks will run along the elongated section to link the existing lines of the Muzeum metro station and the Václavské Náměstí stops.

Work is expected to begin in spring 2024 and last 3 years. Bids were won from six consortia comprised of 15 corporations from 4 countries, and bids were evaluated based on cost (80%) and completion date (20%).

The brief includes a wider redevelopment of the square adding traffic calming and pedestrianisation, drainage and landscaping. The roof of the Muzeum metro station will be reinforced up to the tram tracks.
