Erik ten Hag called me and said that at United, my agent would get millions of euros and I could earn a multiple of my Ajax salary. But our decision was clear: we wanted to go to Ajax.
Manchester United wanted to have me, but I insisted on returning to Ajax. To make that possible, my agent Jose Fortes Rodriguez even waived a hefty percentage of the sell-on clause
“It’s true that in a few days we’ll see the situation,” Pochettino said. “That’s why I told them I’m a little worried.
“I don’t have all the data yet on whether it will be available for a brief initial period. We have to be very clinical to make some decisions, think about it and see how we solve the problem. “
“We have to do as productive as we can with the team we have, but we’re in the position of if the right deal is made. But they’ve noticed how quiet January is and we’re actually not thinking about the players who will come out. “of the building.
We’re looking to recruit. Zak and Sean left. I’m looking to recruit. David Wotherspoon is also leaving, so we’re a little short now. That’s the job, you have to lose space to bring in your own players. That’s what I’m looking to do.
I’m sure we have a lot of friends in the market.
In the next few days I expect to club to conclude the transfer of a couple of left-sided players. It is necessary to help the manager with some additional players this window. In the transfer window, you always have to be attentive and I can say that we are very well prepared.
Kris Moore, the young defender from Leeds, we’re having a look at him. I didn’t think we had enough bodies to come on the camp, so it was a good opportunity to have a look at him at right-back with Lewis Miller away and only really having young Rory otherwise, so it was good for him, and Kanayo, to get some minutes.
Adryan is a Brazilian player who has been absent in recent months due to a family situation, but he trains in Dubai and we thought it would be a good opportunity for him to train with us, so we can take a look at him.
Tottenham bought the same thing in January, with Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin already present, from RB Leipzig and Genoa. But I don’t see that as evidence that Spurs president Daniel Levy has replaced positions and is no longer leaving things out the window. He left early for several reasons. Son Heung-min went to the Asian Cup for 4 weeks and
Werner is the same in terms of speed and versatility on the front line, although Son is on a different level from him in terms of overall quality. Clubs wouldn’t have queued around the block for Werner. But there is a Bayern Munich festival. Levy would have liked to continue with his usual modus operandi, but in both cases he was forced to operate differently.
I’m satisfied with the team. I think there are some spaces where we can maybe organize our goal ratio, so you immediately take a look at the front spaces of the field.
Some players may leave, for example two players, Bertrand Traoré and Calum Chambers and if this scenario happens, we can add one or two players to the team.
I’m glad they left Dexter in the window so early. He is an exciting full-back who likes to get involved in the team’s attacks and shows advanced defensive characteristics for his age.
Their progress over the past year has been enormous. He played the early part of that season at a southern hot spot and also has a reputation on Jamaica’s foreign scene.
Dexter’s career is on an upward trajectory and we’re confident he can make his way to Hearts and make an impact over the next five months.
Some players may leave, for example two players, Bertrand Traoré and Calum Chambers and if this scenario happens, we can think about adding one or two players to the team. The players we have now, we need to help them right now.
I thought it was a smart opportunity for us when it was presented to me before the New Year.
We knew that with Sonny out for a while we needed a player.
Although the centre-back was a priority, if any other opportunity presented itself, we tried to move fast enough.
I think Timo would suit us stylistically. In fact, he has the attributes we look for in a player in this space.
He can play in all three positions, which adds genuine intensity and quality in the third.
After talking to him, he is motivated and likes the opportunity that Tottenham has given him where he is at this level of his career.
“Look, nobody knows what happened in the scenes, it’s just guesswork and guesswork. But what we do know about Jordan is that he’s a very no-nonsense professional and a really smart guy. It was Kenny who signed him at Liverpool, so we know he’s a really fair guy.
“But I think there comes a time when you’re at a club like Liverpool and you wonder if you can see adjustments and he’s probably noticed that they’re replacing them for the better, and he’s a wise guy and he realizes that maybe it’s just better”. One of the best settings.
“Maybe an offer came from Saudi Arabia, which would be very good for his family, with a lot of players going through there. But there’s a lack of magic in those stalls when you go there and you don’t pass. Leaving Liverpool is like leaving Manchester United as the years go by; After that, it’s never the same for players.
“So I think that is what has happened, he realises he has still got something to give and he wants to get back to reality. Saudi Arabia is not reality out there, he’s probably craving some wind and rain believe it or not. I’ve not watched any of the games and I don’t know anyone who has to be honest, I’ve no interest whatsoever. He must be missing the buzz of playing in the Premier League, it’s the centre of the football world right now.”
“When you do what he does every week at the top of the league, there’s going to be speculation. I need that for my players, I need them to flourish.
“I haven’t heard of any questions that have been asked directly to the club about him, and I’d be lying if I said they would be welcome. We need Jack to play here for a strong Sunderland team and see what we are. “Take a look at the things to do this season. I was very inspired by it.
“In an ideal world, with freedom of action, we would have already brought in players. But we are in that scenario; as Darren [Eales, Newcastle CEO] alluded to on Thursday, Financial Fair Play is a factor for us, and we want to avoid that.
“That’s the position we’re in. When does [replacing injured players] become a problem? It’s already one, but we’re trying to manage through it.
“It’s a frustration for everyone around us. The owners are really very ambitious and would like to help and the team in any way they can. The regulations and situations under which we work do not allow this. That’s how it works, we act the way we can.
Borussia Dortmund put a lot of effort into signing me. I’ve been following BVB and their fans for a long time and even went to the Champions League match in Manchester in autumn 2022 to see the team live on the pitch. “I am very pleased that the loan worked. I promise I’ll give it my all to help the team succeed and I’m looking for the Yellow Wall. “
I’ve been here for almost five years and I continue to grow professionally and personally. I feel very appreciated here and have a wonderful connection with the club. My family circle and I also feel incredibly comfortable here. Despite other attractive features in Europe, I wanted to extend my contract with the Philadelphia Union because, in the end, my center also influenced my decision. The MLS is an exciting league and you can see that its progression is going in the right direction, also in view of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico. I hope to continue being part of the league at a great club and, as always, I will do everything I can for the team so that we can celebrate successes together. Conversations with officials here were and still are characterized by wonderful mutual appreciation. In today’s fast-moving world, my time here has been something special. Now our relationship will continue, which makes me very happy. For me, there are definitely smarter reasons to stay here than to leave. That’s why I once said yes to my club with total conviction.
When I walked into the locker room today, I felt like I was “coming home. “I know the club by heart, I’ve been very close to the enthusiasts here and I’ve never lost touch with the other managers.
I can’t wait to see my teammates again, faint on the pitch, play football with a smile, provide assists, make passes and for the club to qualify for the Champions League.
Declan Gallagher underwent surgery Thursday to fix a groin problem. Gal may be out for 3 or 4 weeks. It may replace our moving plans, yes.
Ollie is frustrated. We never intended to bring him in from Cardiff and have him on the bench. I think it would be the most productive thing for everyone (if the loan were to end).
We had a conversation with Cardiff and the agent, and I speak to Ollie about it; I don’t need to obstruct their development. So if he can locate normal playtime somewhere, that would be the best situation for him.
This resolution is a dream come true for me, because when you are a child you need to one day play for clubs like FC Bayern. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world and has a history.
If Fenerbahce are passing to put Bonnuci in their team, then they will have to let a foreign player pass and Kent will be that player because he couldn’t play much.
The mentality of the team has changed and they have also failed to get used to the Istanbul lifestyle. He’s a bit of a shy and unsociable guy and that’s why Kent hasn’t gotten used to the city much. Well, it looks like the club will sell Kent in this move window.
I’ve heard from Kent that he doesn’t need to leave Fenerbahce in this transfer window, but I think he’ll leave. He is attracting a lot of interest from Turkey, from the English league, and Hull City are interested in moving him.
Its owner is Turkish and has a very intelligent relationship with Fenerbahce. It’s unclear exactly what Kent will do, as I’ve heard he needs to return to the Premier League or Scottish Premiership. He doesn’t need to go to the championship or the Turkish team.
St Johnstone’s new signing, David Keltjens, says that Guy Melamed has entrusted him with the big sale at McDairmin Park.
The Israeli sought the recommendation of the former Saints striker, who told him to take advantage of the opportunity in Perth, and even admitted that he had returned to the club after his departure.
I followed Guy’s career from Israel,” Keltjens said. “I did not know him personally at that time.
But I asked him about his experience at St Johnstone and he enjoyed it.
He even said he plans to return in the last few years. It hasn’t taken place yet and has amazing memories. He told me that, in my situation, going to St Johnstone was the most productive thing I could do.
I’ve spoken to a lot of players I know who have played in Scotland. Liel Abada at Celtic and Gold Dadia who has been in Aberdeen. They spoke well of the country and the league.
We tried to keep him, we talked about it with the league for a long time, but they let us.
In a footballing aspect it’s a big loss. Since Connor came into the side he’s had six goals in 12 starts, something like that. The side had continuity and was doing well and he was a big part of that.
We still have options, but it’s notoriously exhausting and frustrating. Connor was a wonderful professional when he wasn’t on the team and also when he was. He has shown skill. It’s not smart for you, but it’s a wonderful opportunity for someone else.
We will be in constant contact with the players. It’s no surprise that many teams are connected to Michael Mellon, he’s a striker with a lot of compatibility. I’ve seen him play at Scotland’s under-21 level. He plays on this team with a lot of our guys.
He’s a very talented player; He has scored 15 goals in twenty appearances. So, it’s evident that it’s getting a lot of attention. We’ll keep an eye on it, just for now.
There’s been conversations. Ideally me and the club would like to get something sorted sooner rather than later. We’re talking, the conversations are going on. Hopefully we’ll have some good news at some point.
When I walked into the locker room today, I felt like I was coming home. I know the club by heart, I’ve been very close to the fans here and I’ve never lost touch with the directors.
I can’t wait to see my teammates again, faint on the pitch, play football with a smile, make passes, score passes and be part of qualifying for the Champions League.
Patience is not my greatest strength. Every coach needs to have all the players with him on day one, but that will never happen. I’m more patient than before. I know how confusing transfers have become.
There are multiple parties involved and it has become incredibly complex. [. . . ] We strive to move things forward, not just transfers but other things as well. We are incredibly ambitious.
This is a wonderful opportunity for Callum to gain playing time in League One. Like all loan players, he will first have to perform at a higher point to identify himself in the team and then make sure he reaches that point of performance. stay there.
Callum has had injuries recently, but this is a chance for him to come through and show his qualities in a competitive league.
I haven’t gotten any reaction or comment on the situation. I also consulted Or Dadia, who played in Scotland during the war, and she told me that she did not feel any other treatment. It’s nothing that includes the Scottish League total.
I spoke to Guy Melamed who played here at St Johnstone. He did well in Scotland, he scored a lot of goals here and gave them to me. I also had appearances in Israel for a lot of money, but here it fits me both in terms of character and playstyle.
Scotland is part of the UK, the kingdom of football, there’s an amazing atmosphere here and I was able to stop by and see it. That appealed to me. The players were on break, but now they are starting to educate themselves. It’s a relatively small and friendly club with great people, a smart education centre, it’s not a big stadium but it’s very friendly. For me, it’s an opportunity I deserve to have taken sooner. in my career.
Thank you, since we do not have an official offer at the moment, we have not yet made a decision regarding the Ryan Kent, so all the players are together at the moment.
At the moment nothing has been signed yet. There is a possibility by next week that there could be something there. It is a big club and they are up there, as they should be, fighting for the title. It is a great opportunity for me personally and it is something I am looking forward to if everything gets done.
I read some of his articles in which he commented that he hadn’t played much football at the end of last season. He saw what I did in Inverness: having enough compatibility and playing well. He took a chance and I’m so grateful that he looks at me and needs me. I’m very happy.
I’m delighted to sign Kyle on loan, he’s a player I have worked with before and a player who did very well last season in this division.
Kyle brings quality, fun and intensity to our team.
He’s also shown a wonderful preference for signing up at Raith Rovers, which is what we’re looking for right away, and Kyle can play positions in the park.
I would like to thank the board of directors of Raith Rovers FC for securing this loan agreement, and also thank Ross County FC for making this loan possible.
Every transfer window we have stories about me, they also said about Man United last summer. My focus is on Barcelona. I’m doing my best for Barca, 100 per cent It’s a privilege to wear the captain’s armband, I feel the responsibility.
I think since he was named captain, he’s taken his game to another level. The highest compliment that can be paid to him is that he scores all kinds of goals, with a header, with his left foot, with his right foot. And score against everyone. It’s not like he’s only scoring against teams at the bottom of the league. He scored against any of the Old Firm teams.
I’m very happy to see him bet so well. Obviously there are a lot of hypotheses about him right now, but he still has a year and a part left. I’d love to see him sign an extended contract with Hearts, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens with that.
But if he continues to play the way he does, I hope to see him finish the season as the most sensible goalscorer and get into the Scotland team, because I think the biggest motivation for Shankland at the moment is to play well with Hearts and of course he’s flying towards the Euros.
Mr. Esteban (Paz) says he has an offer from Bournemouth in England,” he told Olé.
I’ve heard about it and it’s true that there’s interest, but they’ve never made a formal offering. I am in constant contact with Dr. Isaac (Alvarez), president of the league, and his collaborators, and they have told me that there is no official offer for Oscar Zambrano.
We’re talking about an offer from Bournemouth that’s rarely very much on the table, that doesn’t exist. It even gave the impression in the media that it was sold, but it wasn’t. This morning I spoke with Dr. Isaac and his staff, so that’s not the case.
Dear Mamuka Jugeli, you are a disgrace. I’m annoyed by your sense of reasoning. KEEP MY NAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!
It would be simple for Leicester to keep him in case they needed to see them cross the finish line for promotion. Leicester are 10 points ahead of Ipswich in second position and will almost certainly get automatic promotion, so morally it would be the right resolution to let the player move forward, as he is obviously at the forefront of the manager’s mind.
There will be no shortage of offers, Rangers were very keen to sign him when Mick Beale was manager, but the problem for Championship clubs is who can afford his fee or his salary? So unless he goes to a European club, the most realistic outcome would be a loan move.
The verbal exchange with the manager was very, very smart. He without delay made me feel what I needed and felt to sign for a club. Also, the tactics, the style, the way he needs to play and let the team play – for me, I immediately thought he was a better fit.
I am very pleased to join such a big football club as Dundee United. The team has had a wonderful start to the season, that’s part of the appeal. I hope that I can contribute to the efforts to move forward, this by contributing to the most sensible of the field.
I’m really looking forward to racing with the coach and helping the club get back to the elite point where it belongs.
I’m sure they’ll turn to some other striker. They’ll have to make sure there’s a party in the park, maybe some other extreme as well.
They have strength in intensity and some players are coming back from injuries.
I like Hampden. Let’s hope it continues!
“t’s a great place and for any player who gets the chance to play at Hampden, it’s a great experience.
So it’s great to play our home matches there.
We want to compare the team on a fairly temporary basis and see where we are as a group.
January is a month I’ve never liked as a manger but it’s one where it’s really important we get it right.
If we point to two or three players, we need to make sure we point to the right guy.
It’s a very high salary, it’s already high for a Serie A. Nowadays, it’s a very high salary for monthly expenses. There is a negotiation to stay or go.
I saw Lenny [Neil Lennon’s] comments a couple of weeks ago, where he said he’d like to see Callum [McGregor] play at the top of the court. I think what he needs is someone who can dictate the game and just do the defense. paintings and the physical aspect of things. A sitting midfielder who frees up Callum and Matt O’Riley.
They are strong in midfield, without a doubt. I think they want another striker, actually. I think the big guy, Oh [Hyeon-gyu], is doing well, but he’s probably not a natural finisher. Kyogo [Furuhashi] is probably the one you think scores goals for this team, but I still think you want another striker who can score at least 15 or 20 goals per season. We had him in Dortmund, we had [Karl-Heinz] Riedle and [Stephane] Chapuisat, but we also had [Heiko] Herrlich and [Ibrahim] Tanko. We also had him at Celtic, with [Henrik] Larsson, [Chris] Sutton and [John] Hartson. We had goals all over the place, so look at that and think, yes, maybe they want one more call from the start that can come in and charge more goals to the team.
Callum scores a few goals for you, but you want to see someone else score 12 or 15 per season in that position. [Prisoner] Hatate has been unlucky with injuries and [Matt] O’Riley is doing a smart job. I think if I really wanted another goalscoring midfielder, I understand where Lenny is coming from, because the physical aspect is also very important.
He’s a smart player and I admired him when I was at St Johnstone. He had one or two injury problems last year and didn’t play much football, but I think he showed his form at Inverness and did really well. His contract with Inverness expires in the middle of the month and, indeed, he is a quality player that we like.
I will never forget my memories of Glasgow. Thank you for all of you. I’m cheering you on from Japan.
It comes from the things you do off the field, the way you exercise, and everything that comes into play. We’re not all easy with each other, which is a smart thing to do. In fact, it’s a win-win situation. environment, as long as it continues. We’ve loaned out Corrie, who will make it all the way to the top. We’ve got guys like Matty and Danny, who create a lot in both games, and Vassell in attack. have some great quality players.
I wish Tom nothing but success. His time at Livingston has been hampered by long-term injuries, which has been a real shame. He’s a top professional and gives you everything every day. He will be a huge miss around the club. I can’t speak highly enough of him and would never have stood in the way of him being able to be closer to his family.
And he’s discussed how he plans to use his football portfolio to make sure players are ready to hit the ground running in the English top flight. We’ll make an announcement in the next few days about a really exciting South American player who is going to come over
Maybe it’s going through to be loaned out to one of our sister clubs because we’re actually looking to create a modest multi-club style where we can start playing players in Auckland, take them to Hibs in Scotland, maybe they’re moving on to move to Lorient, maybe we’ll move on to have a Belgian team. We take them through the system, they get playing time and then they come to Bournemouth.
Is the club in monetary difficulty? Absolutely not. We have cash in the bank. Apart from the government’s long-term Covid loan, this is the club’s debt. Everything else is paid for and up to date.
We are the money we have, but if you take a look at any company, you will see that they have the ability to invest money. Jim and I said we’d do a little bit of that, but we moved on. Someone in the Society who offered greater security would be a smart thing to do.
There is a set budget. I met with the manager and Nick (Daws, head of recruitment) to start talking. We’ve already had 3 starts.
We have positions to fill. We’re looking to recruit. We’ve had key players injured and until the end of the transfer window we’ll have some new faces in the build-up and players who came back from injuries.
There’s a monetary figure that we’re going to use, which takes into account the departures and other things that have happened, and gives us some flexibility.
We compared the team, as always. We had a verbal exchange with the owners and the sporting director and today.
Like the other teams, we look for opportunities. Really smart, really nice. We have an intelligent relationship. It’s all right. These are general conversations we want to have. There are too many rumours that can circulate in clubs. You don’t need to sell if you want to buy players.
Will has been a mainstay in central defence since his arrival, making 17 appearances for the club at the time and we are very pleased to be able to protect their facilities for the remainder of the season.
We are discussing about the transfer market internally but it’s not true that we have to sell players before we can bring in new ones. It’s not like that. We don’t need to sell before we can buy for FFP.
I’ve said it a lot of times, but I feel really at home here. I feel so comfortable living in Newcastle; I love the city and I love playing for the club and the incredible fans. I can’t say enough how much I love them, and how much their support means to me.
Playing for this team where I feel so comfortable with all my teammates and the coaching staff is like a circle of family for me, so I am grateful to stay here a little longer and I hope to live even more exciting moments.
I still don’t wish Tom any success. His time at Livingston was hampered by long-term injuries, which is a real embarrassment for him and the club.
He’s a very sensible professional, he gives you everything every day and the club will miss him terribly.
I can’t communicate enough about him as an individual and I would never have stopped him from getting close to his family.
“I’m very happy to be joining Birmingham City at this time. I can’t wait to get back on the educational court and start working with this talented organization of players. “
My purpose is to build their confidence, get spin, and give blues enthusiasts a team they can be excited about and proud of.
I know from personal experience how passionate Bluenoses are, home and away, and I’m looking forward to having their full support for the team starting on Saturday at home to Swansea City.
Josh Doig has been on Rangers’ radar for a while as he was a standout player at Hibernian. He’s a very modern full-back who’s very athletic and loves to bomb forward. He’ll gain experience on the defensive side of things as he develops. That’s his main role, but you can never stop a young player from wanting to gallop forward and join in. It’s no surprise to see Rangers after him. Borna Barisic has been at the club since 2018, and he’s been a fantastic servant for the club. I think Doig would offer some fresh legs and he’d be a good signing for most clubs.
Lawrence Shankland is on the radar of many championship clubs, Hull, Southampton and Middlesbrough.
He currently plays for Hearts, where he is the top scorer, having scored 18 goals in all competitions.
You wonder if it’s a gamble to bring someone from Scotland to play in the league, but his country decides and he’s a very talented player.
He’s still got 18 months left on his contract and, being a Scotland international, I’m sure Hearts will ask for a significant fee and, yes, there’s a threat to take someone from north of the border, but he’s right. and scoring goals, then it could be a threat worth taking on if the value is right.
The club was right behind me from the first bit. The fans were behind me, which was a massive part. Even when I wasn’t at their games, they were singing my name. And I got loads of messages on social media. A friend of mine sent me a video of the fans singing my name, I got goosebumps to know that they’re still behind me, even though I’m not there.
Everyone knows Brentford is a family club, they’ve been amazing for me. I can’t thank them enough, especially the fans. They were me too from the first minute. So it’s like I have a lot to pay for.
There is a huge gap between the Premier League and the Championship. I might see him betting on the league, but I’m looking to kick him out. He’s a Hearts player.
It’s all kicking off and you won’t miss any of the action with us.
Nicolas Kuhn is taking no risks ahead of his proposed switch to Celtic. The German hasn’t been training fully with Rapid Vienna and won’t play in their weekend friendly as the two clubs negotiate a transfer fee. Forgotten man Kwon has emerged from the shadows to become the first departure of Brendan Rodgers’ window. The Korean will spend the rest of the season on loan at St Mirren.
After Rangers’ early sack of Fabio Silva from Wolves, things calmed down a bit on the newcomers’ front. An agreement will not be reached for Michy Batshuayi as Sam Lammers was taken out of his distress and sent to FC Utrecht on loan. Philippe Clement has his team in Spain for an educational camp and there may be more movement when they return to Glasgow.
Steven naismith has confirmed that hearts have opened contract talks with Lawrence Shankland. That comes hot on the heels of right back Dexter Lembikisia arriving on loan from Wolves. Rivals Hibs are in Dubai running the rule over trialists Kris Moore and Adryan.
Bojan Miovski insists he remains in Aberdeen despite interest from Celtic and Southampton, while Dundee, St Johnstone and Motherwell have all been active in the window.
South of the border, Jadon Sancho left Manchester United to return to Borussia Dortmund, while Harry Souttar is the latest to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.

But he turned down the opportunity to sign Erik ten Hag in 2022 from the Bundesliga.
However, Brobbey opted to return to Ajax.
Erik ten Hag called me and told me that at United my agent would receive millions of euros and that I could earn part of my salary at Ajax. But our resolution was clear: we were looking to move to Ajax.
Manchester United sought me out, but I insisted on returning to Ajax. To make this possible, my agent Jose Fortes Rodriguez even waived a significant percentage of the resale clause.
Chelsea may be forced to enter the transfer market in search of a new striker.
Christopher Nkunku has been absent from education in the last 10 days due to injury following his recent return from an extended absence with Mauricio Pochettino worried.
The French striker will be evaluated in the coming days, but as Armando Broja has been the only hitman at the club lately, it could mean the arrival of reinforcements from January.
He said
“It’s true that in the next few days we are going to see the situation,” said Pochettino. “That’s why I told you that I am a little worried.
“I still don’t have all the information about whether he is going to be available or not for a small initial period. We need to be very clinical to take some decisions to think and see how we fix the problem.”
Sean Dyche has no plans to lose any of his Everton stars, but rules out departures.
Speculation has linked Amadou Onana and Arnaut Danjuma with the exit door.
Speaking on potential players leaving the club, he said:
“We are in a position to do the best we can with the team we have got but we are in the position where if the right deal came along. But you’ve seen how quiet it is in January and we are certainly not thinking of players going out of the building.”
Inverness manager Duncan Ferguson is keen to add to his squad after sacking 3 players.
David Wotherspoon’s short-term contract expires this weekend and he will leave for Dundee United, while captain Sean Welsh has left for Queen’s Park and Zak Delaney has also been released.
It leaves Caley Thistle short of numbers but it gives Ferguson the chance to make his own mark on his squad.
We’re looking to recruit. Zak and Sean left. I’m looking to recruit. David Wotherspoon is also leaving, so we’re a little short now. That’s the job, you have to lose space to bring in your own players. That’s what I’m looking to do.
Matt Penney’s preference is to remain in England rather than return to Motherwell.
The former Sheffiled Wedesday and Ipswich defender was loaned to Fir Park in the early part of the 2022-23 season.
He is interested in returning to Lanakrshire, but Record Sport perceives that his first option is to continue his career south of the border.
Eddie Howe has exposed the complicated situation Newcastle are in. The Toon boss claimed that they had no money, that no player was temporarily returning from injury, and that no one was willing to make loan deals.
I’m sure we have a lot of friends in the market.
Rapid Vienna are not taking any risks with Nicolas Kuhn to get his imminent move to Celtic approved.
The German wide man is set to become Brendan Rodgers’ first signing of the January window and the two clubs continue to negotiate a fee ahead of a switch to Glasgow.
Rodgers is keen to add more quality in the wide areas despite already having an abundance of wingers, and reckons the versatile former Ajax and Bayern Munich man is of the standard required.
An agreement is expected to be reached, but the Austrian club are not in a position to approve Kuhn’s departure as the main monetary points are still under discussion.
The Premiership champions have reportedly raised their offer to £2. 8 million, but Rapid are waiting for £3 million. Kuhn did not participate in full practice with the rest of the Rapid squad on Friday.
hey take on Weiner SC in a friendly this afternoon. But Kuhn won’t feature, as confirmed by head coach Robert Klauss. READ MORE
Marseille president Pablo Longoria has revealed he expects his club to finalise the signing of players this weekend, as the French giants close in on a £4. 3m move for Scotland Under-21 captain Josh Doig. Ligue 1 after 18 months in Serie A with Verona. The 22-year-old charged the Italian side £3 million, but there were also lucrative additions and a percentage of long-term resale fees included and, when added to the notable bills owed through Verona, the Leith club are expected to earn almost £1. 5 million. And, when asked about Doig’s resolve after Marseille’s 1-1 draw with Strasbourg, Longoria admitted he expects to see progress very soon.
In the next few days I expect the club to conclude the movement of some left-footed players. It is mandatory to help the coach with a few more players in this window. In the movement window you have to be careful and I can say that we are very well prepared.
Doig will play former Rangers star Rino Gattuso at the Veldrome, with OM last being fifth in the league and 12 points leading PSG.
Nick gave an update on the two applicants for the Hibs test to be held in Dubai.
Leeds United defedner Kris Moore and unattached Brazilian midfielder Adryan – who had a loan spell at Elland Road – both played in the heavy 5-1 defeat by Swiss outfit Servette.
Hearts has begun talks with star striker Lawrence Shankland about a new long-term deal with Gorgie.
The 28-year-old is in the best form of his life and, with 18 months left on his contract, the Jambos aim to tie down their main man. Shankland has long been linked with Rangers, but the Scottish striker would ask for a hefty transfer of payment if he were to leave. And now Hearts must avoid that, reports the Edinburgh Evening News.
Graeme Souness doesn’t believe it’s a brave new era in terms of transfer at Tottenham and claims their quick start to the window is out of neccessity.
Daniel Levy was quick to back Ange Postecoglou with the signings of Radu Dragusin and Timo Werner, but the Liverpool icon does not expect this to be an issue. Souness, speaking in his Daily Mail column, presented his views.
Tottenham have bought earlier than usual this January, with Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin already in, from RB Leipzig and Genoa. But I don’t see this as evidence that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has changed his spots and is no longer leaving things to the dog-end of the window. He’s gone early for several reasons. Son Heung-min has gone off to the Asian Cup for four weeks and
Werner is the same in terms of speed and versatility on the front line, although Son is on a different level from him in terms of overall quality. Clubs wouldn’t have queued around the block for Werner. But there is a Bayern Munich festival. Levy would have liked to continue with his usual modus operandi, but in both cases he was forced to operate differently.
Former Dundee United star Harry Souttar is reportedly in talks with Saudi heavyweights Al Nassr to sign him for the rest of the season.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. are oblivious to the name as they follow leaders Al-Hilal in seven numbers and are looking for a spark in the market and are in talks with the pariah of Leicester.
Former Lens star Seko Fofana will be allowed to leave, according to Rudy Galletti, if an option is identified.
He may want to update his photo on social media as it shows him and Messi facing off at the World Cup. Ronaldo will most likely look at a selfie when he arrives.
Dundee are set to sign Ricki Lamie, recently loaned out by Motherwell on a season-long deal, on a pre-contract to stay at Dens Park for the long term.
The defender will stay and is close to closing a deal that would keep him at Tayside until the summer of 2026.
Lamie, 30, who has also had spells at Livingston and Morton, has impressed Dens boss Tony Docherty.
Dundee are back training this week although Lamie is just returning from a slight hamstring issue he picked up in training after their game with Aberdeen was called off.
Docherty is yet to bolster his squad this month, following the loan arrival of Dara Costelloe from Burnley.
He made the transfer after spending the first of the season on loan at St Johnstone.
He could be joined by his young Clarets team-mate Michael Mellon with the two clubs now in talks over a deal for the striker.
Ross County had also been interested as boss Derek Adams had Mellon at Morecambe but they have been told Tayside is the preferred destination.
Mellon, the son of former Dundee United manager Micky, has been playing around 20 appearances on both sides of the border lately. He returned from his loan spell at Morecambe and will be sacked after signing an extension.
Another precedent is a left-back after Owen Beck was called up via Liverpool, while Docherty admits his side could make progress in some areas.
I’m satisfied with the team. I think there are some spaces where we can maybe organize our goal ratio, so you immediately take a look at the front spaces of the field.
Rangers’ new signing Fabio Silva insists he has nothing to reveal to Ibrox, writes Andy Newport in La Manga.
The Wolves striker, on loan only, joined Rangers until the end of the season without having managed to return to Gary O’Neil’s Molineux. The 21-year-old was paid the Premier League side £35 million when they brought him in from Porto in 2019 but has struggled to live up to that big bill, contributing just five goals in 73 appearances.
Loan spells at Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven last season proved more productive, with Portugal’s under-21 ace scoring 16 times in Belgium and the Netherlands. However, this hasn’t exactly silenced his sceptics in the south, who continue to question whether he’s made for the English elite. But speaking from the Gers’ winter educational camp in La Manga, Silva responded.

Ivan Perisic is reportedly considering an emotional return to Hajduk Split.
The winger hasn’t played for Tottenham this season as he recovers from a serious injury. He seems unlikely to have a future under Ange Postecoglou and his contract is up in the summer.
Fabrizio Romano says Split, where he spent six years as an academy player before his breakthrough at Sochaux, has made him his “main target”, and will do his best to sign him in January.
But that depends on his recovery and his ability to play before the end of this season.
Hibs will benefit from a great deal of help from Josh Doig as the left-back prepares to join Marseille from Hellas Verona.
Doig had attracted the interest of Rangers and Torino in this window, but it was the French side who gave the impression of winning the race to move him away from Verona. Doig, 21, has inspired despite his side’s poor form and has shown in his 35 appearances in his 18 months in Serie A, where he has contributed to six goals, that he is a capable full-back in one of Europe’s most sensible leagues.
Hibs sold Doig for around £3 million in the summer of 2022, but as part of the deal to sell him, they would make 27. 5% of the proceeds from any long-term sale. And it turns out to be a sensible deal. . .

Aston Villa are open to offers for out of favour duo bertrand Traore and Calum Chambers.
Traoré has been slightly noticeable this campaign, while Chambers has been given an exit from the Europa Conference League.
And Unai Emery has shown that he can get out.
Some players can leave, for example two players, Bertrand Traore and Calum Chambers and in case that situation happens we can think to add one or two players in the squad.
He’s a guy who stands his ground, and it turns out that Ange Postecoglou’s stance on moving negotiations hasn’t replaced much, if any, over the years.
The Tottenham boss recently added Radu Dragusin to his squad and that comes after Timo Werner was brought in on loan from RB Leipzig to beef up his team for the second half of the season. And the straight-talking Aussie was asked how he managed to ‘sell’ Spurs to two players who had other options on the table.
However, as Celtic enthusiasts know, convincing players to signal has never been his taste: it’s been almost exactly two years since he said Riley McGree was “probably not worth it” after opting for Middlesbrough instead of the Hoops.
And his response when asked about his two Tottenham signings was earily similar.

Arbroath has signed Ross County midfielder Adam Mackinnon on loan.
The 20-year-old spent the early part of the season with Brora Rangers in the Highland League and also spent time at Montrose in the past.
But now he’s headed to Lichties, where he’ll take his first steps in the league.
Mackinnon is expected to sign up for Jim McIntyre’s team to face Ayr tomorrow.
Hyeokkyu Kwon was fortunate enough to start his career in Scotland with St Mirren.
The Korean arrived at Celtic in the summer but hasn’t been seen since a pre-season friendly against Atletico Bilbao. His lack of competitive action has been used as an example of the Hoops’ poor summer recruitment. But now he’ll get the chance to show what he can do in black and white after joining the Buddies on loan until the end of the season.
Boss Stephen Robinson admits he’s spoken in depth with Brendan Rodgers about Kwon and hopes he can fill the midfield void left by Keanu Baccus. He’s currently on Asian Cup duty with Australia and will be missing for most of January and potentially beyond, depending on the Socceroos progress.

Hearts have signed right-back Dexter Lembikisa on loan from Wolves for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old, capped by Jamaica at senior level, arrives to ease Steven Naismith’s selection options at right-back with Natahniel Atkinson away on Australia duty.
And the boss will have closed the deal.
I’m glad they left Dexter in the window so early. He is an exciting full-back who likes to get involved in the team’s attacks and shows advanced defensive characteristics for his age.
Their progress over the past year has been enormous. He played the early part of that season at a southern highlight and also has a reputation on Jamaica’s foreign scene.
Dexter’s career is on an upward trajectory and we’re confident he can make his way to Hearts and make an impact over the next five months.
Aberdeen have been urged to hold out for £6m for Bojan Miovski – and tell clubs they’re NOT getting him for any less this month.
And they got the latest news on Hearts and Hibs, who are the latest in terms of new signings.

The midfielder joins on loan from Birmingham City until the end of the season.
It’s two days out of two for Derek Adams after the capture of Fulham goalkeeper George Wickens on Thursday.
Aberdeen have withdrawn Jayden Richardson from his time at Stockport Town.
The right-back is no longer in Pittodrie’s favour, with Nicky Devlin being the first pick in that position following his arrival from Livingston this summer.
Now, Richardson will return directly to Colchester United.
Celtic Women have appointed Elena Sadiku as their first female head coach.
The Swede replaces Fran Alonso, who left the club after 4 years last month to take charge of the Houston Dash.
Sadiku was previously head coach at Everton’s WSL Academy.
Interim boss David Haley will continue as assistant after his fina match in charge agaonst Montrose on Sunday.
Celtic have recalled Adam Montgomery from his loan at Fleetwood Town.
The defender/left midfielder had partnered former Parkhead captain Scott Brown in Lancashire and saw his season marred by injuries.
He is now returning to Parkhead and may faint if he stays in shape.
Marseille are reportedly ‘close’ to landing Josh Doig from Hellas Verona.
Verona have sparked interest in the Scottish left-back, with Rangers and Torino available earlier.
But it turns out that it is Marseille who have taken the big step, as Gianluca Di Marzio reports that a deal to sign him is “very close”.
It’s thought it could even be announced tonight if all goes according to plan.
Verona are keen on signing Ridvan Yilmaz from Rangers as their replacement.
If Hibs have done their homework on Adryan Oliveira Tavares back-to-back, you’ll already know the stories of his time in Zion.
The Brazilian joined the Hibees during their winter educational camp in Dubai as Nick manages the 29-year-old as he tries to strike a deal with the Premiership club.
A total of 164 career appearances for a player with 30 seems like a lot, but the events of his time in Switzerland could be part of why. LEARN MORE
Benfica are reportedly in talks with Man Utd to sign left-back Alvaro Fernandez.
20-year-old Fernandez was one of the top prospects in the United academy once upon a time and while his star has faded, he’s starting to find his level as a solid performer in La Liga.
He’s currently on loan at Granada, who are desperately struggling, but his performances have impressed Benfica.
And Fabrizio Romano claims they are in talks to sign him for £9m.
