Transfer of Niclas Fullkrüg: the agreement between West Ham and Borussia Dortmund for the German striker after the failure of the agreement with Jhon Durán

West Ham are close to reaching an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign striker Niclas Fullkrug.

The final points of the agreement are being finalized between the clubs, adding the payment structure. Elements of the player’s private situations are also being finalized.

There is now growing optimism that a deal can be reached for the German foreigner after West Ham failed to reach an agreement with Aston Villa for striker Jhon Duran.

Interest in the Colombian striker persists, but as things stand, there is a large valuation gap. The previous proposal, which featured cash plus Lewis Orford, now appears to have been shelved, with the West Ham midfielder in talks over a new contract.

Sky Sports News understands Fullkrug, who has entered the final two years of his contract, is open to a move to the London Stadium.

The Hammers tried to sign Fullkrug last summer, but the 31-year-old left Werder Bremen for Dortmund, where he scored 15 goals in 43 appearances, adding 3 in the Champions League as the Bundesliga side reached the final.

The 31-year-old’s form led to him being called up to the German national team at Euro 2024 and he scored two goals in five appearances in the tournament.

West Ham are also interested in Villarreal striker Alexander Sorloth, who finished second in the race for the La Liga Golden Boot last season, a goal for Girona’s Artme Dovbyk.

Sorloth, 28, has scored 23 in La Liga and 3 more in the Europa League.

West Ham are on the verge of reaching an agreement with Manchester United for the signing of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Many facets of the deal have been agreed upon in principle, but much remains to be done regarding final pricing and structure.

There is cautious optimism that a compromise can be reached with the valuation gap.

Once everything is complete, United will move forward with their signing of Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.

The summer 2024 move-in window officially closes on August 30 at p. m. British time in the Premier League and at :30 p. m. in Scotland.

The Premier League has brought forward the deadline to register for Europe’s other primary leagues. The final dates were set after conversations with the leagues of England, Germany, Italy, Spain and France.
