Former Manchester United defender Raphael Varane recently joined Serie A as Como on a two-year deal.

According to L’Equipe, the Hammers have matched Fofana’s initial £30m value and the resolution now depends on the player, who is highly rated across Europe.

The Hammers have met the Colombian foreigner as the most sensible target as they look to their attacking ranks for next season under new head coach Julen Lopetegui.
Standard Sport understands that West Ham are looking to succeed in a deal with Villa, but there is still a difference between the Premier League clubs in terms of Duran’s respective valuations.
Villa are holding firm on the £40m asking value for the 20-year-old, which has remained the same throughout the summer, but West Ham are reluctant to break above that maximum as they try to secure a compromise.

Brentford confirmed that Igor Thiago suffered a meniscus injury in his first game for the club.
The 23-year-old played for the Bees against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday and scored twice in the 5-2 win, but now faces a spell on the lines on a hit to Frank de Thomas.
Thiago will undergo further examinations next week due to the severity of his injury, as he has already been ruled out for Thursday night’s friendly against Benfica.

Mikel Arteta has shown that Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein could be loaned out for next season.
